Our client is a globally recognised financial institution. They are currently seeking an experienced Project Manager to join their team in Kuala Lumpur. The successful candidate will be instrumental in supporting the implementation of the Group Strategy and Group level projects and making change a source of sustainable competitive advantage.

What you'll do:

As a Project Manager, you will play a pivotal role in driving change within the organisation. You will manage projects that are designed to deliver specific outcomes within set timelines and budgets. Your ability to take decisive actions, lead change initiatives, and manage relationships with stakeholders and senior management will be crucial for success. You will also be responsible for establishing project governance, planning effectively around delivery constraints, monitoring project execution, and managing project closure and handover.

  • Manage change through projects established to deliver specific outcomes on time and on budget.
  • Take decisions and lead change initiatives, managing stakeholder and senior management relationships.
  • Establish project governance, including clear sponsorship, tollgates and steering committee.
  • Plan effectively around delivery constraints and optimise the plan to maximise benefits and minimise risk.
  • Monitor project execution to identify risks/issues/dependencies as they arise throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Manage project closure and handover to the business.

What you bring:

The ideal candidate for this Project Manager role brings a deep understanding of the project lifecycle, Business Transformation Frameworks, Agile methodologies, and project management tools. Your knowledge of banking operations will be key in understanding how changes can drive benefits for customers and other stakeholders. Your ability to interact with and influence stakeholders at various levels will be crucial in this role.

  • Understanding of the project lifecycle
  • Knowledge of Business Transformation Frameworks and best practice techniques
  • Experience with Agile / scrum methodologies of project delivery
  • Knowledge of project management tools such as Clarity/ JIRA/ MS Project
  • Understanding of banking / HSBC and understanding of how change drives benefits for customers and other stakeholders
  • Ability to interact and influence stakeholders at appropriate level
