The successful candidate will be responsible for liaising on technical issues to ensure the implementation of sound underwriting practices and monitoring the growth and profitability of the PA/Travel OR Property portfolio.
What you'll do:
As an Underwriting Specialist, you will be at the forefront of managing the PA/Travel OR Property portfolio. Your role will involve providing technical solutions that align with the company's business strategy. You will also be instrumental in developing new products and ensuring their successful launch. Working closely with various teams, you will ensure that all operational matters, system enhancements, and project deliveries are handled efficiently. Your ability to manage risk will directly contribute to the profitable growth of your portfolio.
- Manage portfolio risk to ensure profitable portfolio growth
- Develop skills and provide continuous support and training to underwriters
- Involve in all areas of the PA/Travel product development processes
- Work closely with Claim team to ensure benefit payout is accordance to policy terms
- Collaborate with supporting departments on operational matter, systems enhancement, and project delivery for PA/Travel portfolio
- Ensure that Third-party Administrator (TPA) service standard is delivered according to service contract
- Implement business strategy together with Head of Accident & Health
What you bring:
The ideal candidate for this Underwriting Specialist position brings a wealth of experience in underwriting or a similar capacity. With at least five years' experience under your belt, you have honed your skills in managing risk and developing strategies that drive profitable growth. Your proficiency in English and strong presentation skills enable you to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels. As an IT literate professional, you are comfortable using Microsoft Office applications and other relevant software. Your leadership abilities make you a valuable asset to any team.
- Degree in any field or related insurance qualification such as AMII/CII/CMII/DMCII
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in Underwriting and/or similar role/capacity
- Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office applications
- Proficiency in English
- Good presentation and negotiation skills
- IT literacy
- Ability to work as a team leader
