  • Enjoy the stability of a full-time, on-site position in Kuala Lumpur with opportunities for professional growth, knowledge sharing, and meaningful stakeholder engagement.

What you'll do:

As an Environmental Social Governance and Asset Manager, you will play a central role in driving responsible investment initiatives while optimising asset performance across diverse infrastructure projects. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve close collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of ESG principles into every stage of the investment lifecycle. You will be instrumental in preparing detailed reports that not only satisfy regulatory requirements but also provide valuable insights for investors and public stakeholders. By engaging directly with stakeholders—both internally within the firm and externally with portfolio companies—you will help foster transparent communication channels that reinforce trust. Your ability to monitor asset performance, conduct thorough risk assessments, facilitate training sessions, and contribute during due diligence processes will be crucial in maintaining high standards of sustainability. Success in this role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving, meticulous attention to detail when managing documentation, and a genuine passion for advancing environmental social governance within the rapidly evolving landscape of digital infrastructure and energy transition.

  • Prepare comprehensive ESG and Asset Management reports for both internal use and external stakeholders, ensuring regulatory compliance, investor transparency, and public disclosure requirements are met.
  • Collaborate with investment teams to integrate ESG considerations throughout the investment process, aligning with regulatory standards and investor expectations.
  • Engage proactively with stakeholders by participating in meetings, addressing inquiries related to ESG practices, and supporting effective communication between portfolio companies and investors.
  • Monitor asset performance continuously by implementing best practices in asset management to optimise operational efficiency across the portfolio.
  • Support the development and implementation of ESG policies by staying abreast of evolving industry standards and regulatory frameworks relevant to infrastructure investments.
  • Conduct risk assessments related to ESG factors within portfolio assets, identifying areas for improvement and recommending actionable solutions.
  • Facilitate training sessions or workshops for internal teams to enhance understanding of ESG integration and reporting methodologies.
  • Assist in preparing materials for investor presentations or public disclosures that highlight the firm’s commitment to sustainability and responsible asset stewardship.
  • Contribute insights during due diligence processes for new investments by evaluating potential ESG risks and opportunities.
  • Maintain accurate records of all ESG-related activities, ensuring data integrity for audits or future reference.

What you bring:

To excel as an Environmental Social Governance and Asset Manager, you will bring proven experience from either global ESG consulting environments or international investment institutions where you have developed deep expertise in sustainability frameworks. Your background should include hands-on involvement with Development Finance Institution requirements as well as direct exposure to asset management within infrastructure funds—ideally focusing on energy transition projects. In addition to technical proficiency around regulatory compliance and risk assessment methodologies specific to ESG matters, your interpersonal skills must enable you to communicate complex information clearly across various platforms. Academic credentials such as a Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in fields like Sustainability or Finance underpin your practical knowledge base. Your ability to engage constructively with stakeholders at all levels—combined with strong organisational capabilities—will allow you to manage multiple streams of work efficiently while upholding rigorous standards of accuracy. A willingness to stay informed about new developments in sustainability reporting further enhances your suitability for this multifaceted position.

  • A minimum of 5-6 years’ experience working within a global ESG consulting firm or international investment institution is essential for this position.
  • Demonstrated familiarity with ESG requirements set forth by Development Finance Institutions (DFIs), including practical application within real-world scenarios.
  • Previous exposure to infrastructure fund or private equity asset management is highly desirable—particularly if you have worked on projects related to energy transition investments.
  • A robust understanding of regulatory compliance frameworks as they pertain to ESG standards, risk assessment protocols, asset management strategies, and reporting methodologies is required.
  • Outstanding communication skills are necessary for preparing clear reports as well as delivering compelling presentations to diverse audiences.
  • Proven ability to work both independently on complex tasks as well as collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams ensures success in this environment.
  • A Bachelor’s degree or higher qualification in Sustainability, Finance, Economics, Environmental Science or another relevant field provides the academic foundation needed for this role.
  • Experience engaging with stakeholders at multiple levels—including investors, regulators, portfolio company representatives—and responding thoughtfully to their inquiries is important.
  • Strong organisational skills are vital for maintaining accurate records of all ESG-related activities while managing competing priorities effectively.
  • A commitment to continuous learning about emerging trends in sustainability reporting tools or industry best practices will support ongoing professional development.
