What you'll do:
As an Assistant Manager Project Finance based in Kuala Lumpur’s vibrant financial district, you will be immersed in a dynamic environment where your day-to-day activities revolve around supporting complex project finance transactions. Your role will involve preparing client proposals with precision and clarity; conducting robust financial modelling to underpin strategic decisions; reviewing projects for bankability; assisting with credit paper submissions; participating in due diligence exercises; coordinating regulatory applications; liaising with multiple stakeholders; organising investor briefings; building strong relationships across departments; and maintaining a service-oriented approach that balances customer needs with institutional standards. Success in this role requires not only technical proficiency but also excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a large network of professionals.
- Assist in preparing detailed client proposals and pitches by gathering relevant data and presenting findings in a clear and compelling manner.
- Conduct comprehensive financial modelling and numerical analysis to support client proposals, project finance advisory mandates, as well as live transactions.
- Review potential projects thoroughly to assess their bankability from a project finance perspective, effectively communicating research and analysis to stakeholders.
- Support the preparation and submission of credit papers to the appropriate credit committees, ensuring accuracy and compliance with internal standards.
- Participate actively in loan or bond/sukuk execution processes, including due diligence exercises, term sheet preparation, regulatory applications, submissions, marketing materials review, and legal documentation oversight.
- Liaise consistently with clients and other transaction parties such as rating agencies, legal counsel, technical advisers, financial advisers, insurance advisers, reporting accountants, ensuring smooth communication throughout each transaction.
- Organise and coordinate rating reviews, roadshows, and investor briefings to facilitate successful project outcomes.
- Establish, maintain, and enhance positive rapport with clients, professional advisors, consultants, external legal counsels, and shariah committees through considerate communication.
- Collaborate closely with various internal departments including Client Coverage, Global Market teams, corporate banking divisions, finance units, tax specialists, internal legal teams, operations/settlement staff, corporate agency representatives, loan administration personnel, credit risk analysts, risk modelling experts and compliance officers.
- Demonstrate a good service mindset by prioritising customer objectives while upholding the institution’s requirements for quality and compliance.
