A leading financial services organisation in Kuala Lumpur is seeking a Project Manager/Project Management Lead for the Coupa Workstream within their Group Finance division. This contract role offers you the opportunity to play a pivotal part in a major transformation programme, focusing on procurement and finance systems. You will be at the heart of a high-profile project, ensuring disciplined execution across design, testing, data migration, cutover, and deployment activities.

What you'll do:

As Project Management Lead/Project Manager – Coupa Workstream based in Kuala Lumpur’ you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of project governance within a major finance transformation initiative.

  • Own the integrated Coupa workstream project plan by managing milestones and dependencies throughout all delivery phases to ensure alignment with overall programme timelines.
  • Establish and maintain RAID logs, decision registers, and action trackers specific to Coupa so that risks and actions are tracked transparently.
  • Sequence and deliver Coupa activities in line with rollout strategy by coordinating design, pre-track, testing, migration, and cutover tasks.
  • Represent the Coupa workstream in programme-level forums by collaborating with Oracle integration teams, global process owners, change management specialists, and central PMO staff.
  • Surface and proactively manage Coupa-specific risks and interdependencies at programme level by facilitating communication between relevant stakeholders.
  • Develop executive-ready status reporting on Coupa progress by tracking delivery against plan and highlighting variances or emerging risks early.
  • Support Steering Committee, PMO, and leadership updates with concise insights based on fact-driven analysis of project status.
  • Identify delivery, timeline, and readiness risks within the Coupa workstream by driving mitigation actions collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Own planning and governance of Pre-Track activities for the Coupa workstream by developing execution plans covering early LBU engagement, solution walkthroughs, clinics, and readiness checkpoints.
  • Lead team members through mentoring while establishing clear ways of working, templates, and governance artefacts that enable a smooth transition from external consultants to internal capability.

What you bring:

To excel as Project Management Lead – Coupa Workstream you bring deep experience from large-scale finance or ERP/P2P transformation programmes—ideally spanning 8–10 years—with a solid academic foundation in Finance, Accounting or Information Systems.

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent qualification preferably in Finance, Accounting or Information Systems is required for this role.
  • 8–10 years’ experience managing large-scale finance or ERP/P2P transformation programmes demonstrates your proven track record in complex environments.
  • Proven experience handling multi-stream system workstreams ensures you can navigate intricate project landscapes effectively.
  • Strong exposure to testing governance as well as data migration and cutover processes within enterprise programmes is essential for success.
  • Experience working alongside system integrators plus central PMOs shows your ability to collaborate across organisational boundaries.
  • Excellent planning abilities combined with stakeholder management expertise allow you to communicate clearly at executive levels.
  • Presentation skills honed through delivering updates to large groups of senior stakeholders are highly valued here.
  • Experience with Coupa P2P or Expense design is considered an added advantage but not mandatory; familiarity with insurance or financial service industries is also beneficial.
  • Strong documentation discipline paired with written/verbal communication skills enables you to produce clear governance artefacts.
  • Commitment to teamwork coupled with strong interpersonal skills means you thrive in collaborative settings.
