About the Associate Director - Claims Technical Excellence Role: As the Associate Director - Claims Technical Excellence, you will be at the forefront of establishing and leading claims technical excellence across the group. You will be responsible for strengthening claim control and risk management, creating loss control ratio targets, and developing a robust FWA prevention framework. Your role will also involve defining group-wide claims standards, procedures, and guidance notes while collaborating with key stakeholders to deliver innovative claims capabilities. You will also play a pivotal role in setting professional development standards for the Claims Community of Practice across the group.
Drive the achievement of group business goals in claim control and risk management to prevent potential fraud, wastage and abuse across all business units
Collaborate with key stakeholders in support of other claim excellence goals such as End-to-End Straight Through Processing (STP), Turnaround Time (TAT), Customer Experience (CX)
Define and govern group-wide claims standards, procedures and guidance notes
Collaborate with key stakeholders to deliver new innovative claims capabilities to support business goals on claim control and risk management
Maximise cost and benefit justification for claims project business case by validating assumption with business units and relevant group functions
Set professional development standards for the Claims Community of Practice across the group
Support the development of claim operation model for growing markets
Perform operational due diligence to support potential mergers and acquisitions
The ideal candidate for the Associate Director - Claims Technical Excellence role brings a wealth of experience in insurance operations management and claims management. You have a proven track record of driving end-to-end claims automation and STP for Life and Health Claims. Your strong organisational and management skills enable you to lead multi-functional teams effectively. You are adept at influencing partners and stakeholders in the delivery of key goals. Your effective communication and relationship skills allow you to engage with group and business unit executive committee level stakeholders.
Proven experience as a claims subject-matter expert with at least 15 years of insurance operations management experience and at least 10 years of claims management experience
Experience with driving end-to-end claims automation and STP for life and health claims
Experience with leading transformation within a group/regional office where delivery is through influence rather than direct control
Strong organisational and management skills to lead multi-functional teams
Strong influencing skills to engage partners and stakeholders in the delivery of key goals
Effective communication and relationship skills to engage group and business unit executive committee level stakeholders
Ability to demonstrate independent leadership, judgement, and decision making
Ability to adjust to multiple and changing priorities, remaining flexible, open, and collaborative
