An exciting Senior Manager, Group Reporting job has just become available at one of the most respected insurance firms based in Kuala Lumpur. Reporting directly to the Assistant General Manager.
About the Senior Manager, Group Reporting Role: In this business critical role you will be responsible for managing and providing financial management support in group financial reporting and taxation matters by ensuring reports and tax are prepared accurately, timely and in accordance with approved accounting standards and regulatory reporting requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Be responsible for the accurate and timely submission of group consolidated accounts and reporting pack for management, Bursa Malaysia and holding company, BIMB
Review and liaise with tax agent to ascertain accuracy of tax returns, tax computations and working schedules, and ensure compliance with Income Act and Public Rulings
Be responsible for timely monthly submissions of SST return and review of SST return together with its reconciliation of SST payables
Coordinate year-end audit and be responsible for completion of Annual Report
Liaise with auditors and regulators and keep abreast with the latest updates of accounting standards and regulatory requirements as well as develop core and technical competencies
Oversee the daily and monthly activities of general, family and investment and unit responsible for timely and accurate accounting transactions into the general ledger. Review internal management accounts and statutory returns for all funds
Seek improvements and enhancement of accounting system and internal controls
Review workflow including documenting standard of procedures to enhance the reporting processes
Supervise and train subordinates, and ensure proper succession
Manage ad hoc projects, as required by the management
To succeed in this Senior Manager, Group Reporting job, you will need to have the ability to work effectively and co-operatively with senior business development teams, across borders and internal matrix.
Key Requirements:
Recognised degree in accounting/finance or part qualified professional accounting qualifications
Minimum of seven years of work experience with no less than two years in a managerial position in the financial/insurance industry
Sound knowledge of Malaysia tax legislation, public rulings and practices
Strong knowledge of accounting standards and framework
