Save job

A leading global insurance group is seeking a Manager/Senior Manager to join their Group Performance Management team in Kuala Lumpur. This pivotal role offers you the opportunity to shape and enhance management reporting processes that directly support senior decision-makers across Asia. You will be at the heart of a collaborative, high-performing environment, working closely with colleagues in Hong Kong and local teams to deliver timely, accurate, and insightful management information.

What you'll do:

As Manager/Senior Manager, Management Reporting (Insurance), you will play an integral part in supporting the Group Performance Management function through expert delivery of management information and performance analysis. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve optimising reporting processes using advanced Excel skills, coordinating closely with both local and regional teams to ensure timely completion of critical deliverables. You will guide your team through complex assignments while maintaining open lines of communication with stakeholders in Hong Kong. Success in this position requires you to balance multiple priorities efficiently, foster a culture of collaboration within your team, and drive ongoing improvements that enhance both quality and efficiency. Your ability to coach others while maintaining accountability for outcomes will be essential as you help shape the future of management reporting within this global insurance leader.

  • Support all Excel-based deliverables related to management information, performance analysis, actual reporting, forecasting, planning, and remuneration for the Group Performance Management function.
  • Enhance and optimise existing work files, processes, and controls by identifying areas for improvement and implementing best practices to increase efficiency and accuracy.
  • Collaborate daily with the Hong Kong team to deliver urgent ad-hoc requests as well as regular business-as-usual outputs within established timelines.
  • Coordinate closely with local businesses and Group teams to ensure seamless delivery of products that meet stakeholder expectations across different countries.
  • Manage a team of 5-6 professionals by delegating tasks effectively, coaching team members for development, reviewing outputs for quality assurance, and acting as the main point of contact for the Kuala Lumpur office.
  • Consistently deliver high-quality products under tight deadlines by balancing flexibility with robust control measures.
  • Effectively manage competing priorities while maintaining composure under pressure to ensure all deliverables are met without compromising standards.
  • Provide clear communication between the Hong Kong and Kuala Lumpur teams by managing expectations transparently and fostering strong inter-office relationships.
  • Lead the Process Optimisation team by nurturing a collaborative culture focused on continuous improvement and shared success.

What you bring:

Your extensive background in process optimisation within management reporting environments equips you perfectly for this senior level opportunity. You bring not only technical mastery over Excel-based tools but also proven capabilities in guiding teams through complex projects involving multiple stakeholders. Your interpersonal strengths enable you to build trust quickly across cultures while your organisational skills ensure nothing falls through the cracks—even when juggling urgent requests alongside routine deliverables. Experience gained from more than a decade in insurance or financial services means you understand what it takes to succeed in regulated environments where accuracy is paramount. Professional certifications further underscore your commitment to excellence. Above all else, your empathetic leadership style fosters loyalty among colleagues who appreciate your willingness to share knowledge generously while supporting their growth.

  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Excel along with other Microsoft Suite applications such as Power Apps and VBA is essential for streamlining reporting processes.
  • Proven experience managing teams including delegation of tasks, coaching for development, reviewing work quality, and handling competing priorities effectively.
  • Ability to perform well under pressure while consistently meeting deadlines without sacrificing attention to detail or accuracy.
  • Experience in independent thinking combined with proactive problem-solving initiatives that contribute positively to process optimisation efforts.
  • Strong teamwork orientation with the capacity to nurture collaboration both within your immediate team and across geographically dispersed offices.
  • Preferably knowledgeable about the insurance or financial services industry which enables you to understand sector-specific challenges and requirements.
  • Highly organised approach with experience managing multiple stakeholders across various departments or locations simultaneously.
  • Exceptional communication skills—both written and verbal—in English are required for effective stakeholder engagement at all levels.
  • Relevant academic background with a Bachelor’s degree in a science-related field; professional qualifications such as accounting, actuarial science, investment analysis or risk management are advantageous.
  • Over 10 years’ relevant experience in management reporting or related fields demonstrates your readiness for this senior leadership role.
