An interesting Head of Asset Liability Management job has become available at one of the financial institutions based in Kuala Lumpur. Reporting directly to the CFO, this is a role is for a leader within the finance department.

About the Head of Asset Liability Management Role:
The Head of Asset Liability Management is required to drive towards balance sheet optimisation integrating regulatory requirements and the bank’s targets; focusing on profitability and liquidity dimensions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assess performance/profitability using Risk-Adjusted Return on Capital (“RAROC”) at bank, business units, and product levels
• Set up new pricing tools (acquisition RAROC) to optimise non-retail financing portfolio
• Develop and produce FTP reports that provide data summary by products and lines of business.
• Institute controls of FTP processes across all lines of business
• Plan and implement the new FTP platform and all go-live activities
• Assess the bank’s current performance from both assets (financing/investment) and liabilities (deposits/funding) at various levels to gauge each stakeholder’s performance with respect to the targets set
• Simulate the impact of various scenarios/options on the bank’s net profit margin should the strategies be properly executed
• Review product policies and various critical matters, and offers recommendations to focus on profit rates

To succeed in this role, you are required to possess strong knowledge in banking balance sheet management/asset liability management.

Key Requirements:

• Minimum of 15 years of experience in the banking industry
• Good knowledge of ALM techniques and practices
• Good knowledge of liquidity, funding, and balance sheet management
• Strong modelling skills, and exposure to ALM simulation packages with advanced technical knowledge in funding, liquidity and balance sheet risk management
• Strong communication and negotiation skills with the ability to influence outcomes
• Strong interpersonal skills, which encourages and promotes enthusiasm and team spirit
• Strong commitment to meeting tight deadlines and overcoming challenges
