About the Head of Digital Strategy Role:
In this business critical role, you will drive the development of the bank’s overall digital strategy and execution of digital initiatives that enhance the unique value proposition of the bank. This involves driving distinctive digital capabilities and innovations that create competitive advantages for the bank that are beneficial to our customers and internal stakeholders. You will also own the development and implementation of the Bank’s digital banking architecture, defining target states and transition roadmap.

Key Responsibilities:

• Drive and lead transformation of the bank’s digital strategy and ensure the bank is agile, able to adapt to changing business requirements from technology/systems enabler perspective and remains competitive considering incoming competition from fintech as well as other banks
• Champion engagements and lead the negotiations pertaining to trade-offs and changes related to digital initiatives between business, IT, strategy, operations, and other related functions
• Play a mentorship role to key personnel in digital strategy department and information technology services office, ensuring constant improvement of skills and readying them for upward migration in terms of authority, accountability, and functionality
• Advance the bank’s digital strategies through strategic collaborations (or other engagement models) with external parties
• Own the development (conceptualisation) and implementation of the bank’s digital banking strategy, including architecture, defining target states and transition roadmap, taking into consideration the multifaceted issues/challenges and uncertainties in the industry, coming up with fit-for-purpose design that is aligned to the bank’s mandate and competitive positioning
• Act as the digital banking domain subject matter expert and trusted internal advisor by providing thought leadership and apprising key stakeholders within the bank on the latest digital trends and opportunities that exist in the digital banking space, and to facilitate informed decision-making at senior management and board level
• Champion a transformative process optimisation initiatives that reduce operational inefficiencies, through the utilisation of innovative digital solutions

To succeed in the Head of Digital Strategy job, you will need to have the ability to work effectively and co-operatively with senior business development teams.

Key Requirements:

• Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Banking, Finance, Information Technology, or related
• 10 - 15 years in digital strategy/IT/transformation (or strong demonstration of equivalent capability)
• Experience in senior management or managerial job
• Expertise in both Strategy Formulation and strong exposure on IT (modern architecture)
• Experience and involvement in transformation/transition of enterprise towards agile from traditional waterfall methodology and practices
• Good understanding on General Banking System
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and interpersonal skills
• Strong Leadership skills
• Strong understanding and able to drive and apply agile methodology and practices
• Excellent written/verbal communication
• Ability to lead, motivate, and guide the enterprise and staff to achieve the set target
