FIG Senior Manager

An exciting FIG Senior Manager job has just become available at an established foreign financial institution to be based in Kuala Lumpur.

About this FIG Senior Manager Role:
In this financial services business critical role, you will be responsible for overseeing business development and relationships with key financial institutions in Malaysia across all FI sub-sectors – Banks, Govt. Linked Investment Companies, Funds, Insurance, NBFC, Brokers etc., with the objective to effectively capture full wallet of business available from this client segment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop key relationships and contacts with the selected client set and adopt a ‘solutions mindset’ to address client problems
• With a product and location agnostic approach, drive collaboration across product teams and other regional teams to deliver key outcomes for the client. Also, work seamlessly between offshore RMs and onshore teams to deliver both Foreign Currency as well as MYR products and solutions that suit the client needs
• Conduct regular marketing and courtesy visits to FI clients based in Malaysia. This may also require occasional meetings with their relevant regional/head offices based overseas to pitch the Bank’s capabilities and win business
• Achieve profitability targets including Assets/Liabilities/New Customers/Cross-sales targets assigned to the team and individual
• Establish business relationships with new clients to increase the bank's profit
• Perform credit analysis/monitoring of new and existing clients. Supervise preparation of credit applications/credit grading/self-assessment for assigned clients
• Understand and maintain internal compliance requirements and upgrade regulation related knowledge in strict compliance with regulatory and internal policies
• Facilitate cross-border finance transactions involving Malaysia angle which may lead to transactions in Americas, EMEA, and APAC

To succeed in this role, you will need to have at least 10 years of relevant experience covering FIs at a local/regional/global bank.

Key Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in business, finance or accounting
• Team player, proactive and a quick learner
• Ability to negotiate and make decisions in a highly competitive and demanding environment involving transactional complexities and time constraints
• Strong interpersonal skills to originate and market the bank’s products to FI clients
• Comprehensive knowledge of financial market and industry trends
