Independent Non-Executive Director (INED)

What you'll do:

As an Independent Non-Executive Director, you will serve on the Board and provide independent oversight across strategy, risk, and governance matters. With a particular emphasis on risk management and credit risk, you will bring constructive challenge and sound judgment to Board deliberations, ensuring that risk appetite, capital discipline, and governance frameworks remain robust and forward-looking.

What you bring:

The ideal candidate brings a strong combination of board-level governance experience and deep expertise in risk management, particularly credit risk, within a regulated financial institution. You are recognised for your ability to balance strategic thinking with prudent risk oversight, and to engage constructively with regulators, fellow Board members, and senior management.

• Provide independent oversight and challenge on enterprise risk management, with a strong focus on credit risk, portfolio quality, and risk appetite.
• Contribute to the formulation and review of strategy, capital management, and risk governance frameworks.
• Serve actively on Board Committees, particularly Risk Committee, and where relevant, Audit and Nomination & Remuneration Committees.
• Oversee the effectiveness of credit policies, underwriting standards, stress testing, and risk controls.
• Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory requirements, including Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) guidelines and relevant financial services legislation.
• Support the evaluation of senior management performance in relation to risk management, controls, and governance outcomes.
• Bring an external, independent perspective that promotes transparency, accountability, and sound governance.
