You will enjoy working in a collaborative environment that values your expertise and encourages professional growth while maintaining a strong sense of responsibility and teamwork.
* Join a leading public-listed property developer with over three decades of industry experience and a reputation for developing sustainable townships and commercial enclaves across Malaysia.
* Enjoy a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision care, education support, parking facilities, insurance coverage, and performance bonuses designed to support your well-being and career progression.
* Take on a high-impact role overseeing tax compliance for multinational operations in Malaysia, Singapore, China, and Hong Kong while collaborating closely with internal stakeholders and external partners.
What you'll do:
As a Tax Manager within this esteemed public-listed real estate developer based in Putrajaya, you will play an instrumental role in shaping the organisation’s approach to taxation across multiple markets. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve not only managing routine compliance tasks but also engaging deeply with strategic projects such as transfer pricing documentation and global minimum tax reporting. You will be expected to provide insightful advice on both direct and indirect taxes while working collaboratively with finance professionals throughout the business. Success in this position requires you to maintain up-to-date knowledge of changing regulations across several countries while fostering strong relationships internally and externally. Your ability to identify optimisation opportunities will directly contribute to the group’s financial health. By ensuring robust processes are in place for audits and regulatory changes—and by offering clear guidance during complex transactions—you will help safeguard the company’s reputation for integrity while supporting its continued growth.
* Oversee all aspects of tax compliance for the group of companies by reviewing and submitting tax returns and estimates while ensuring timely payments to relevant authorities.
* Follow up diligently on tax refunds or credit offsets with tax authorities to maximise financial efficiency for the organisation.
* Supervise the preparation and submission of various tax compliance documents such as transfer pricing documentation, Country-by-Country Reporting (CbCR), Global Minimum Tax (GMT), Real Property Gains Tax (RPGT) returns, capital gains tax returns, and other statutory requirements.
* Manage tax audits, investigations, and inquiries from authorities by implementing effective strategies to address queries or disputes promptly and accurately.
* Identify opportunities for tax optimisation initiatives that enhance overall group tax efficiency without compromising compliance or integrity.
* Provide expert tax advisory services to business units on corporate tax matters as well as indirect taxes including Sales and Services Tax (SST), Value Added Tax (VAT), Goods and Services Tax (GST), transfer pricing issues, capital gains tax, and related topics.
* Collaborate closely with Finance teams and business units to assess the tax implications of key business decisions and ensure alignment with organisational objectives.
* Stay updated on the latest developments in local and international taxation laws to proactively manage potential impacts on the group’s operations.
* Foster productive relationships with internal stakeholders—especially within Finance and Accounting—as well as external consultants or authorities to ensure seamless communication and compliance across all regions.
* Oversee the implementation of new tax regulations so that the group remains fully compliant with evolving regulatory standards in Malaysia, Singapore, China, Hong Kong, and other relevant jurisdictions.
What you bring:
To excel as a Tax Manager at this leading public-listed real estate developer in Putrajaya, you will bring extensive hands-on experience from senior roles within corporate taxation—ideally gained in property development or multinational settings. Your background should include significant exposure to governance frameworks as well as risk management protocols that underpin sound financial decision-making. In addition to technical proficiency across Malaysian taxation regimes (and ideally those of Singapore, China, or Hong Kong), your success will be driven by your ability to analyse complex scenarios thoughtfully while communicating clearly with colleagues at all levels. A genuine commitment to collaboration sets you apart; your willingness to share insights openly ensures that both finance teams and business units benefit from your expertise. Your attention to detail when managing audits or responding to regulatory changes demonstrates reliability—a quality highly prized by this employer. Above all else, your dedication to ethical practice ensures that every aspect of your work supports both compliance objectives and broader organisational goals.
* Professional qualification such as Chartered Institution of Tax Malaysia membership or equivalent ACCA/CIMA/MIA certification is required for this position.
* At least 8 years’ relevant experience in taxation roles with a minimum of 3 years spent in managerial positions within corporate taxation environments—preferably specialising in property development or multinational corporations/professional services firms.
* Demonstrated functional exposure to corporate governance practices as well as compliance and risk management frameworks within large organisations.
* Technical expertise in Malaysian taxation is essential; additional experience handling cross-border taxation issues involving Singapore, China, or Hong Kong is highly desirable.
* Exceptional analytical skills combined with proven problem-solving abilities are necessary for navigating complex regulatory landscapes effectively.
* A collaborative mindset is crucial; you must be able to work dependably within teams while also demonstrating initiative when working independently under minimal supervision.
* Commitment to meeting deadlines consistently alongside a strong sense of responsibility towards both internal stakeholders and external partners is vital for success in this role.
* Excellent interpersonal skills are needed for building trust-based relationships across departments as well as liaising professionally with external consultants or government agencies.
* Experience managing audits or investigations by tax authorities—including developing appropriate response strategies—is highly valued by the client organisation.
