What you'll do:

  • Hire, coach, and nurture a team of accountants by setting clear expectations, providing regular feedback, recognising achievements, and supporting their professional growth through tailored development plans.
  • Oversee the month-end close process for multiple regions including trial balance reviews, preparation of detailed schedules, analysis of results, and consolidation loads into corporate accounting systems.
  • Lead the preparation of all required journal entries and reconciliations for complex accounting areas while identifying opportunities for process improvements in collaboration with global process leads.
  • Work closely with other departments and business segments to address queries efficiently and provide targeted training sessions as needed to enhance financial understanding across the organisation.
  • Assist in acquisition integration efforts by ensuring proper mapping between new company ledgers and existing SAP systems to facilitate smooth transitions during mergers or acquisitions.
  • Apply strong internal control design concepts to assess current controls’ effectiveness and develop new processes or controls for emerging business activities in line with best practices.
  • Collaborate with audit functions to refine internal policies and ensure full compliance with SOX frameworks while proactively addressing any identified gaps or risks.
  • Lead comprehensive reviews of results according to statutory requirements and US GAAP standards; identify potential issues prior to close with particular attention to controls and material financial risks.
  • Prepare and present monthly operating reviews to executive leadership teams as well as key business partners; communicate month-end results clearly to controllership stakeholders.

What you bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or related field; Master’s degree or professional certification in Accounting is highly desirable for this position.
  • A minimum of ten years’ experience in accounting roles with deep expertise in general accounting principles as well as indirect tax accounting and compliance across multinational environments.
  • At least seven years’ proven track record leading accounting organisations within large-scale or matrixed companies where cross-regional coordination was essential.
  • Public accounting background or previous experience in controllership roles within global enterprises is preferred due to the complexity of operations involved.
  • Comprehensive technical knowledge of US GAAP standards coupled with hands-on experience implementing internal controls over financial reporting; SOX compliance expertise is mandatory.
  • Demonstrated urgency when solving problems combined with analytical skills that enable effective interpretation of process performance data for informed decision-making.
  • Advanced proficiency using SAP, Cadency reconciliation tools, and Microsoft Excel for data analysis purposes.
  • Exceptional attention to detail paired with excellent time management abilities ensures deadlines are consistently met without compromising quality or accuracy.
  • Outstanding communication skills—both written and verbal—are vital for presenting complex concepts clearly at all levels of management while fostering positive relationships across teams.
  • Experience working within Global Shared Services environments is considered advantageous given the scale of operations managed by this role.
