What you'll do:

As a Senior Accounts Receivable Specialist – Japanese Speaker in Kuala Lumpur, you will manage the Order to Cash cycle for key markets, handling accounts receivable tasks, credit assessments, audits, and escalations. Collaborating with internal and external partners, you'll drive process improvements while maintaining financial controls. Fluency in Japanese will ensure exceptional support for the Japanese market. Success requires attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and expertise in SAP systems to deliver accurate results and shape efficient global finance processes.

• Deliver OtC services aligned with service levels, ensuring compliance with controls and governance.
• Support risk management by executing SOX controls accurately and maintaining a strong control environment.
• Identify and implement process improvements for efficiency gains in the OtC function.
• Collaborate with auditors to ensure successful audits and compliance with US GAAP and company policies.
• Provide consultative support to outsourcing partners for issue resolution and seamless service delivery.
• Resolve escalated queries efficiently within SLAs, showcasing problem-solving skills.
• Evaluate customer creditworthiness using financial data, payment history, and external reports.
• Manage credit risk assessments and maintain effective credit policies for customers.
• Drive proactive collection strategies to reduce overdue receivables and minimise bad debt exposure.

What you bring:

To excel as a Senior Accounts Receivable Specialist – Japanese Speaker, you bring extensive experience in multinational environments, proficiency in SAP systems (especially SAP R/3), and familiarity with shared services or regional finance teams. You have a proven track record of managing priorities under pressure, building strong relationships across teams, and navigating change effectively. Your fluency in Japanese allows you to provide tailored support for specific markets, while your knowledge of accounting principles and US GAAP ensures adherence to best practices. With a focus on accuracy and continuous improvement, you consistently deliver high-quality results that align with organizational goals.

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance, accounting, or a related field relevant to OtC processes.
• Up to six years’ experience in Accounts Receivable or OtC functions, ideally within multinational corporations or shared service centers.
• Fluency in English and Japanese; Mandarin is advantageous but not mandatory.
• Proven SAP R/3 experience in OTtC; familiarity with SAP S/4HANA and order fulfilment/letter of credit processes is beneficial.
• Collaborative experience on regional/global projects within large teams.
• Audit support experience, particularly with SOX controls or US GAAP compliance.
• Strong mathematical aptitude, advanced analytical skills, and proficiency in MS Office tools.
• Ability to maintain financial controls and deliver accurate results under pressure.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for cross-cultural collaboration and query resolution.
• Project management skills, including leading process improvement initiatives with measurable outcomes.
