GL Senior Accountant (China Support)

What you'll do:

As a RTR Senior Accountant, you will manage end-to-end General Ledger processes, ensuring accurate financial records and seamless transaction postings. Collaborating with teams like Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and market controllers, your responsibilities include reconciliations, discrepancy investigations, CAPEX accounting, fixed asset management, and preparing financial reports. You’ll also contribute to process improvements and support routine operations and ad hoc assignments, driving efficiency while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.

• Manage all General Ledger activities, including master data, journal bookings, reconciliations, intercompany transactions, CAPEX accounting, cost allocation, and monthly reports.
• Collaborate with Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable teams to ensure accurate posting of income and expenses in the General Ledger.
• Work with market controllers to address irregular accruals, manage intercompany transactions, process general journals, and handle audit requests.
• Perform detailed reconciliations and investigate discrepancies to ensure financial record accuracy.
• Oversee CAPEX recording, including amortisation, allocation, disposal activities, and preparation of accounting vouchers and sales reports.
• Manage fixed asset accounting from acquisition to disposal while ensuring compliance with internal policies.
• Assist the SSC manager with financial report preparation and ad hoc tasks as required.
• Support process improvement and standardisation initiatives to align with corporate best practices.
• Prepare financial statements and balance sheet breakdowns; assist finance leads during reviews.
• Ensure strict confidentiality of sensitive organisational information at all times.

What you bring:

To excel as a RTR Senior Accountant, you bring extensive experience in managing complex accounting functions within shared services or corporate environments. Supported by a strong educational background and professional qualifications, you possess technical expertise in all aspects of General Ledger management. Advanced Excel skills and proficiency in ERP systems like SAP enable efficient data analysis and reporting, while your understanding of AP/AR integration ensures accuracy during month-end close cycles. • Diploma or bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent qualification such as CIMA or ACCA (partial or full completion is advantageous).
• At least 5-6 years of hands-on experience managing full set accounts including GL reporting and balance sheet reconciliation within a similar environment.
• Strong familiarity with Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes that impact General Ledger reporting outcomes.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel including pivot tables and essential formulas for data analysis.
• Experience using SAP systems as well as Blackline & BPC reporting tools is highly desirable for this position.
• Background in retail or direct selling industry accounting would be considered an asset but not mandatory.
• Excellent command of English is required; proficiency in Mandarin is also preferred due to business needs.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within cross-functional teams while supporting process improvement initiatives.
• Proven track record of maintaining confidentiality when handling sensitive organisational information.
