Our client is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented RTR Accountant to manage the full spectrum of accounting functions. What you'll do:

As an RTR Accountant, your role will be pivotal in managing a wide range of accounting functions. You will be instrumental in supporting GL general accounting activities, processing accounting data for financial closings, managing tax compliance tasks, ensuring appropriateness of accounting records, supporting audit processes within the department, and managing continuous improvement projects. Your ability to work independently or collaboratively as required will be key to your success in this role.

  • Support GL general accounting activities including but not limited to journal preparation, account reconciliations for Asia BUs in GBS Asia.
  • Process accounting data and tax computation for monthly, quarterly and annual financial closings and financial reporting to local country and HQ.
  • Manage tax compliance tasks, which include updating tax calendar, preparation, review/validate and submission of Corporate Income Tax and Indirect tax filings (VAT/ GST) & WHT.
  • Ensure appropriateness of accounting records and control journal entries compliance with corporate policies & guidelines, internal controls, IFRS and statutory accounting principles.
  • Support the audit processes within the department, including preparation and review for statutory, internal, and other audit/review purposes; liaise with internal and external auditors.
  • Manage and accomplish continuous improvement, regional and corporate projects or ad-hoc tasks as assigned within agreed timeline.

What you bring:

The ideal candidate for the RTR Accountant role will bring a wealth of experience in general accounting within an MNC or Shared Service environment. You will have strong statutory accounting knowledge, backed by a degree or professional accounting certification such as ACCA or CPA. Your experience in managing end-to-end statutory audits and tax submissions will be crucial to this role. A working knowledge of APAC Local GAAP accounting and taxation requirements across APAC jurisdictions is essential, as is experience with ERP systems. Your strong process control mindset, self-motivation, analytical skills, and excellent communication abilities will set you apart.

  • At least 6 years working experience in general accounting role in MNC or Shared Service environment with regional exposure.
  • Strong statutory accounting knowledge, with degree or professional accounting certification (i.e. ACCA or CPA).
  • Experience in managing end-to-end statutory audit including annual financial statement, and tax submission.
  • Working knowledge of APAC Local GAAP accounting and taxation requirements across APAC jurisdictions; experience of using ERP systems is critical.
  • Strong process control mindset, highly self-motivated with strong analytical skills as well as a good foundation in accounting and taxation skill.
  • Strong communication skills in English and Mandarin; ability to speak in other Asian languages (Japanese, Korean) is ideal but not mandatory.
