Internal Control, Assurance Analyst This newly created role offers the opportunity to work closely with the Assurance Manager and risk domain leads across the business, enhancing the second line of defence. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in monitoring compliance with policies and control frameworks, coordinating first-line controls self-assessment, and providing support in control testing.

What you'll do:

As an Internal Control, Assurance Analyst, you will be at the forefront of enhancing our client's second line of defence.

• Support the Assurance Manager in facilitating the planning and managing the delivery of first-line risk, assurance and controls testing.
• Plan and drive proactive risk and controls management.
• Identify control weaknesses, perform root cause analysis and ensure action plans are in place to mitigate identified issues.
• Monitor the remediation of issues along with first-line control owners.
• Produce regular reporting on the control environment.
• Perform Tier-based audits, Electronic Internal Controls Questionnaire (eICQ) and Month End Reporting Checklist (MERC) validation.
• Work with the Assurance Manager and Risk Domain Leads to implement and monitor remediation efforts.
• Support risk domain leads in deploying and reviewing policies, procedures, business processes, design and implementation of controls.

What you bring:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in accounting or related discipline or Qualified Accountant (ICAEW, ACCA, ACA or equivalent)
• Good understanding of core business processes
• Knowledge of regulatory and statutory requirements relevant to businesses
• Experience applying quality assurance and quality control methodologies
• Experience with controls assurance and testing
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Analytical mindset with ability to analyse financial and operational processes
• Ability to analyse and present financial data
