Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced RTR Accounting Team Lead to join their dynamic team in Kuala Lumpur. What you'll do:
As an RTR Accounting Team Lead, your role will be pivotal in leading a team of dedicated RTR accountants. You will be responsible for managing all aspects of GL accounting activities while ensuring strict adherence to accounting standards. Your expertise will be crucial in overseeing the preparation of financial data for various closings, maintaining accurate accounting records, supporting audits, and preparing tax provisions. This role provides an excellent opportunity to showcase your leadership skills while contributing significantly to our client's success.
- Lead and mentor a team of RTR accountants, providing guidance and support for their professional development and performance.
- Manage the team’s day-to-day activities related to GL accounting, including reviewing journal entries, account reconciliations, and ensuring adherence to accounting standards and internal controls.
- Oversee the preparation and timely submission of financial data for monthly, quarterly, and annual closings for Asia Bus.
- Ensure that all accounting records are accurate, complete and in compliance with internal controls, company policies, IFRS, and statutory accounting principles.
- Lead and support internal and external audits by coordinating the preparation of necessary documentation and addressing auditor queries.
- Review and support the preparation of tax provisions, returns and other relevant documents.
What you bring:
The ideal candidate for the RTR Accounting Team Lead position brings a wealth of experience in general accounting within an MNC or Shared Service environment. With at least 9 years under your belt, you have honed your skills in managing financial compliance (IFRS), statutory accounting principles. Your strong process control mindset coupled with your analytical skills sets you apart. Fluency in English and Chinese is essential for this role, and knowledge of other languages such as Japanese or Korean will be an added advantage.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Professional certifications such as CPA, ACCA, or equivalent are highly desirable.
- A minimum of 9 years working experience in general accounting role within MNC or Shared Service environment.
- Experience in managing financial compliance (IFRS), statutory accounting principles.
- Strong process control mindset, highly self-motivated with strong analytical skills.
- Fluency in English and Chinese is essential. Knowledge of other languages (Japanese, Korean) gives candidates an added advantage.
