Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Accountant to join their dynamic team in Penang.
This role offers an exciting opportunity to take on a variety of finance-related tasks, including day-to-day activities, month-end closing, SOX auditing, and year-end closing. You will be responsible for ensuring compliance with all accounting standards, corporate policies, and Malaysian Law and Statutory requirements. Additionally, you will have the chance to contribute to finance-related projects and system implementations.
What you'll do:
As an Accountant, your role will be pivotal in supporting the financial operations of the business. Your excellent understanding of accounting principles will enable you to handle a full set of accounts and ensure accurate monthly closings. You will be responsible for all manufacturing accounting activities, including inventory management and cost analysis. Your meticulous attention to detail will be crucial in conducting comprehensive inventory reconciliations and analyses. You will also play a key role in ensuring compliance with SOX procedures, preparing necessary documents for audits, handling SST/other tax related reporting, and supporting both internal and external audits.
- Support full set of accounts and monthly closing
- Handle all manufacturing accounting activities, including inventory and costing accounting activities
- Conduct comprehensive inventory reconciliations and analyses
- Analyse and report on manufacturing costs, including material, labour, and overheads
- Ensure compliance to quarterly Sox procedure and prepare necessary documents for SOX audit
- Responsible for SST/other tax related reporting
- Work together with India Share Service for day-to-day finance tasks and month end reporting
- Support internal and external audit by providing necessary documentation and liaising with internal auditors
- Assist Finance Manager with budgeting/forecasting/any other assignments as required by the company
What you bring:
The ideal candidate for this Accountant position brings a wealth of experience in finance within a multinational corporation environment. With a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance or a related discipline under your belt, you are well-versed in managing a full set of accounts, conducting SOX audits, performing inventory reconciliations, analysing manufacturing costs, and handling SST/other tax related reporting. Your strong interpersonal and communication skills make you a valuable team player who can multi-task and prioritize different requests effectively. Your proficiency with ERP software, such as Navision or SAP, and office applications like MS Word, Excel, and Power Point will be essential in this role.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting / finance or related discipline
- Above 5 years experiences in finance and familiar with MNC culture and working environment
- Big 4 and manufacturing experience is preferred
- Experience working with shared service is preferred
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Good team player, ability to multi-task and prioritize different requests
- Proficiency with ERP software (Navision/SAP) as well as office applications such as MS Word, Excel and Power Point
