This client is seeking a Group Accountant to join their team in Kuala Lumpur. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to their mission of creating better environmental solutions. As a Group Accountant, you will play a crucial role in compiling and submitting financial reports, improving consolidation processes, and setting controls for the finance team
What you'll do:
As a Group Accountant, your primary responsibility will be to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting. You will compile and submit consolidated financial statements, generate quarterly reports, and communicate with subsidiary finance teams on various accounting issues. Your meticulous attention to detail will be crucial in resolving any financial discrepancies. Additionally, you will draft audited financial statements and identify areas for improvement in consolidation processes and reporting systems. Your role will also involve setting controls and work instructions for the Group Account Executive.
- Compile and submit monthly/quarterly consolidated financial statements and reports to management.
- Generate quarterly reports for announcements and submissions.
- Communicate with subsidiary finance team members on accounting and group reporting issues.
- Ensure all financial transactions are accurate, up-to-date, and regularly monitored.
- Resolve financial discrepancies by gathering and analysing account information.
- Draft audited financial statements, including preparing supporting documentation for figures in the notes.
- Identify and implement improvements in consolidation processes and reporting systems.
- Set controls, work instructions, SOP for Group Account Executive.
What you bring:
The ideal candidate for this Group Accountant position holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent. A professional accounting qualification such as ACCA/MIA/CA/CPA is preferred. You should have at least 6 years of experience in a similar capacity; experience in the Big 4 or healthcare industry would be advantageous. Your ability to multitask effectively while maintaining high standards of work is essential. You should be a team player with a high level of maturity and independence. Experience in Group Conso and Financial Instruments, consolidation of foreign entities, forecast, budgeting, and dealing with Securities Commissioner/ Bursa Securities would be beneficial.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting / Finance graduate or equivalent.
- Professional accounting qualification i.e. ACCA / MIA / CA / CPA or equivalent is preferred.
- Minimum 6 years of experience in similar capacity, prior experience in the Big 4 and/or healthcare industry will be an added advantage.
- Meticulous, independent, proactive, responsible, able to multitask and meet tight deadlines.
- Unquestioned integrity and high standards in the work you do.
- A good team player with high level of maturity and independence.
- Experience In Group Conso and Financial Instruments, consolidation of foreign entities is added advantage.
- Experience In forecast, budgeting is additional advantage
- Experience of dealing with Securities Commissioner/ Bursa Securities is added advantage.
