A Group Accountant job has become available at a public-listed diversified conglomerate based in Kuala Lumpur.

About the Group Accountant Role:
As the Group Accountant, you will mainly be involved in handling the consolidation and reporting matters for the company.

Key Responsibilities:

Group Level

• Review quarterly financial statement, schedule and report for key stakeholders purposes
• Prepare quarterly condensed statements for Bursa, risk profile for enterprise risk management and information dealing with sustainability reporting, analyst briefing slides, and details analysis for AGM
• Prepare and tabulate detail segment profitability performance (e.g. flour, feed, maize, etc.)
• Review audit committee slides and ratio report for website publication
• Monitor and supervise monthly consolidation adjustments in controller system for Group Consolidation Report purposes
• Support in drafting Group Annual Report

Company Level

• Review accounting journal postings in SAGE system for month end closing, review of prepayment, accruals, processing of payment and receipt according to FAL (Financial Authority Limit)
• Prepare company level annual budget, monitoring of monthly budget vs actual spending and perform analytics reports monthly
• Review selected monthly analysis and schedule prepared by subordinates, e.g. Forex gain/loss movement, rental fluctuations, operating expenses variances
• Draft Company Annual Report

Other monthly and ad hoc responsibilities

• Liaise and support external auditor for yearly financial audit
• Liaise with LHDN and customer officers for tax-related queries and audit (e.g. GST audits)
• Perform ad hoc information gathering and facts finding requested in relation to special projects, i.e. in terms of information gathering for investment evaluation, Group Transfer Pricing Proposal plan, etc.
• Perform month end and year end close processes – Financial Accounting
• Prepare group consolidated monthly quarterly and annual management account, financial statement
• Prepare budget, cost tracking and control report

To succeed in this Group Accountant role, you must be an accounting professional who is willing and able to work under pressure.

Key Requirements:

• Minimum of three years' work experience in accounting-related functions
• Degree in Accounting and/or Accounting Professional Body members (e.g. MICPA, CPA, ACCA or ICAEW)
• Well versed in project cash flow projection and forecasting
• Proficient in Microsoft Office/Excel and MFRS
• Readiness and ability to work under pressure
• Detail-oriented and organised
• Ability to work independently and communicate with various external stakeholders
• Growth mindset
