Accountant

A rapidly expanding equipment manufacturing company is seeking an experienced candidate for a newly created Accountant job in Shah Alam.

About the Accountant Role:
Reporting to the Finance Director, you will be the key person in managing month-end closing activities, compiling, and analysing data to be collated into periodic reports for management decision making.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare month-end, quarter end and year end closing, and ensure financial period is closed as per timetable
• Be responsible for timely, complete, and accurate financial reporting, not limited to management reports, budget, financial projections, and balance sheet reconciliation
• Ensure all accounting allocations and transactions are appropriately made
• Be responsible for fixed asset register maintenance for company
• Prepare analysis of financial and operational performance including trends and variances
• Review and assess internal control procedures and accounting treatments to ensure compliance with the latest IFRS
• Provide information to regulatory authorities, external auditors for annual audit, tax consultants for tax filing and parties authorised to examine the accounting records
• Engage continuously in process improvement and process automation activities

To succeed in this Accountant role, you must be a self-starter, driven, and must have the ability to work on their own initiative.

Key Requirements:

• Education background in Accounting, and preferably with professional accounting qualification such as ACCA, MIA, MICPA, ICAEW, CIMA or CPA Australia
• At least five years' work experience in a multinational company and familiar with the matrix reporting
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines without compromising on quality
