Senior Financial Reporting Manager

A leading organisation in Petaling Jaya is seeking a Senior Manager Financial Reporting to take charge of the Group’s consolidation, statutory reporting, and management reporting functions.

What you'll do:

As Senior Manager Financial Reporting based in Petaling Jaya, you will play a central role in overseeing group consolidation activities while ensuring statutory reporting meets both local and international standards.

• Oversee the timely and accurate monthly group consolidation process in strict accordance with applicable accounting standards, ensuring all entities are properly accounted for.
• Manage the preparation of comprehensive group financial statements and statutory filings across various jurisdictions, maintaining full compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Coordinate and manage the annual audit process by liaising with external auditors, ensuring all audit requirements are met efficiently and effectively.
• Monitor changes in financial reporting standards such as MFRS/IFRS, assess their impact on the Group’s financial statements, and implement necessary adjustments.
• Lead the development of management reports including Board papers, providing detailed analysis and commentary that offer valuable business insights.
• Collaborate with business units to understand key performance drivers, synthesise complex data into clear findings, and communicate these insights to senior stakeholders.
• Drive improvements in reporting processes by identifying areas for enhancement in KPI tracking and implementing best practices for operational effectiveness.
• Support the Financial Controller in executing finance transformation initiatives aimed at modernising systems and processes within the department.

What you bring:

To excel as Senior Manager Financial Reporting in this organisation, you will bring a wealth of experience from previous roles involving complex multi-entity consolidations within large corporate environments.

• Demonstrated ability to manage, inspire, and develop cross-functional teams through effective leadership skills that promote collaboration and shared success
• Extensive technical knowledge of MFRS/IFRS standards as well as group consolidation principles and statutory reporting requirements across multiple jurisdictions
• Excellent interpersonal skills supported by strong communication abilities for effective stakeholder management within diverse teams
• Comfortable operating within a dynamic environment where managing multiple priorities under tight timelines is essential for success
• Self-driven approach paired with proactive problem-solving skills that allow you to work independently while remaining dependable within a team setting
• Mandatory: Professional accounting qualification such as ACCA, CPA, ICAEW or equivalent is required for this position
• Minimum 7 years’ experience in finance roles involving multi-entity consolidation—including 2–3 years in managerial capacity—and at least one tenure at a Big 4 audit firm
