This client is seeking a Cost Accountant to join their dynamic team in Subang. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work closely with various departments, including Management, Production and Procurement, to maintain the Bill of Material in ERP accurately. You will be responsible for preparing detailed costing reports, overseeing periodic and adhoc stock takes, and driving cost savings initiatives. This position requires a highly analytical individual with excellent problem-solving skills and a flare for numbers.
What you'll do:
As a Cost Accountant, you will play a pivotal role in managing costs effectively across the organisation. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include maintaining the Bill of Material in ERP accurately, preparing detailed costing reports, controlling product costs daily, assisting in closing on Manufacturing Accounting, maintaining Product Item, Recipe (BOM), Warehouse and monthly Currency Setup. You will also oversee periodic and adhoc stock takes, improve inventory management practices, control slow movement inventory and minimise inventory wastage. Furthermore, you will have the opportunity to drive cost savings initiatives by recommending cost-efficient and feasible cost options.
- Work closely with Management, Production and Procurement to maintain the Bill of Material in ERP accurately.
- Prepare detailed costing reports, both periodic and adhoc, to simulate costing in excel for pricing decision.
- Daily Product Cost control and lead to rectify if any abnormal or mistake happen.
- Assist in closing on Manufacturing Accounting.
- Maintain and housekeeping of Product Item, Recipe (BOM), Warehouse and monthly Currency Setup.
- Oversee periodic and adhoc stock takes.
- Improve and ensure good practise for inventory management.
- Control on slow movement inventory and minimise inventory wastage.
- Drive cost savings initiatives, recommend cost efficient and feasible cost options.
What you bring:
The ideal candidate for this Cost Accountant role should hold a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent professional qualifications such as ACCA or CPA. You should have related working experience in a manufacturing environment. You should be able to handle full set accounts, with advanced book keeping, accounting, product costing and tax knowledge. You should possess a flare for numbers, excellent problem-solving skills, be highly analytical and commercially aware. Your ability to learn and adapt quickly, work independently and yet be a strong team player within the Accounts team and across functional teams will be crucial in this role.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent professional qualifications (ACCA, CPA), with related working experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to handle full set accounts, with advanced book keeping, accounting, product costing and tax knowledge.
- Possess a flare for numbers, excellent problem solving skills, highly analytical and commercially aware.
- Ability to learn and adapt quickly, able to work independently and yet a strong team player within the Accounts team and across functional teams.
- Proficient in MS Office (Excel formulae, pivot tables, Word, Powerpoint).
- Knowledge of ERP system an advantage.
