Our client is seeking a dedicated and experienced Controller to oversee their financial management and reporting functions. This role is pivotal in ensuring accuracy, compliance, and transparency in all financial operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for establishing and maintaining internal controls, policies, and procedures to safeguard assets and mitigate risks. They will manage the accounting team and direct financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes to support strategic decision-making. What you'll do:

As a Controller (Financial Planning & Analysis + Reporting), you will play a critical role in guiding the organisation towards its financial goals. You will oversee all aspects of the organisation's financial management from accounting to budgeting. Your responsibilities include establishing internal controls to safeguard assets while also managing the accounting team. You will prepare comprehensive financial reports while leading the annual budgeting process. Your keen eye for detail will be crucial in monitoring the company's financial performance. Furthermore, your strong interpersonal skills will enable you to liaise effectively with external auditors.

  • Oversee all aspects of the organisation's financial management, including accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Establish and maintain internal controls, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulations, and best practices.
  • Manage the accounting team, providing leadership, guidance, and support to ensure accurate and timely completion of financial tasks.
  • Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Lead the annual budgeting and forecasting process.
  • Monitor and analyse financial performance.
  • Coordinate with external auditors, tax authorities, and financial institutions.
  • Manage cash flow, working capital, and treasury functions.
  • Evaluate and implement financial systems.
  • Stay abreast of changes in accounting standards.

What you bring:

The ideal candidate for this Controller position brings a wealth of experience in accounting roles along with strong technical accounting skills. A Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is required for this role; a CPA certification would be a distinct advantage. You should have a minimum of 3-5 years of progressive experience in accounting and finance roles. Your knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting standards, and regulatory requirements will be essential for this role. Proven leadership abilities are required as you will be managing a team of finance professionals. Lastly, your excellent analytical skills will enable you to interpret complex financial data and make sound recommendations.

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA certification preferred.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive experience in accounting roles.
