Financial Controller (MY)

This is a senior Financial Controller role with country-wide responsibility for end-to-end finance operations across a complex, multi-entity environment.

The role ensures that financial processes are standardised, efficient, and fully compliant with Group policies, governance frameworks, and statutory requirements.

What you'll do:

• Lead and manage the Finance team to deliver high-quality, consistent, and timely financial services to all operating units and central functions
• Establish and enforce clear finance SOPs, policies, service levels, turnaround times, and KPIs
• Act as the key liaison between central finance and business-unit finance teams to align expectations, resolve issues efficiently, and maintain open communication
• Oversee day-to-day financial operations across multiple entities, including AP, AR, GL, taxation, financial analysis, and treasury
• Ensure accurate and timely processing of transactions, month-end closings, and intercompany reconciliations in compliance with Group policies and statutory standards.
• Ensure compliance with local regulatory, tax, and statutory requirements.
• Coordinate annual external audits, liaise with auditors and tax advisors, and ensure timely submission of statutory filings.
• Lead financial analysis and provide insights on performance trends, variances, cost efficiency, and profitability to support management decisions.

What you bring:

To excel as Financial Controller, you will bring substantial experience managing comprehensive finance operations within multifaceted organisations. Your background should include hands-on involvement in all core areas of finance—from transactional processing through audit preparation—paired with deep familiarity with local regulatory frameworks.

• Proven track record in managing end-to-end finance operations including AP/AR/GL management, taxation matters (including transfer pricing), financial analysis, treasury functions, audit coordination, and consolidated reporting.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills with a collaborative approach to problem-solving; able to build consensus among diverse stakeholders across central offices and campuses.
• Experience developing clear SOPs/policies for finance processes along with performance metrics (KPIs) that drive accountability within teams.
• Familiarity with process optimisation techniques such as automation initiatives aimed at reducing manual workload; comfortable collaborating on system upgrades/integrations
