Financial Controller

An exciting Financial Controller job has just become available at one of the manufacturing company based in Kuala Lumpur.

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Financial Controller to lead their finance department. This role involves preparing financial statements in accordance with accounting principles and standards, ensuring appropriate accounting control procedures are implemented, and being responsible for financial planning and cash management. You will be the key driver to check & balance, leading other departments when actual vs budget is not in line. This includes monitoring, troubleshooting, resolving operational financial issues, improving internal guidelines, and providing necessary support and advice to management on day-to-day financial matters.

• Lead the finance department
• Ensure appropriate accounting control procedures
• Well verse with manufacturing/plant accounting
• Responsible for financial planning and cash management

What you'll do:

As a Financial Controller, you will be at the forefront of managing all aspects of our client's financial operations. From overseeing daily accounting operations to managing plant reporting and costing, your role is pivotal to the company's success. You will be responsible for preparing financial statements in line with accounting principles and standards while ensuring that appropriate accounting control procedures are in place. Your expertise in preparing cash flow forecasts and analysing budget deviations will play a crucial role in the company's financial planning. Furthermore, your responsibility extends to managing legal contracts, agreements, permits and licenses.

• Oversee daily accounting operations including costing
• Manage inventory count of raw materials, finished goods and work-in-progress
• Handle year-end audit process, working with external auditors
• Prepare tax filing and reporting
• Prepare, review and analyse financial statements (management accounts), provide commentary on Budget deviations
• Prepare Cash Flow forecasts, provide commentary on deviations from forecast
• Monitor and analyse performance against Group KPIs
• Manage Capital Expenditure
• Manage Legal Contracts, Agreements, Permits and Licenses

What you bring:

The ideal candidate for this Financial Controller position brings a wealth of experience in corporate finance and has an excellent understanding of accounting principles, laws, and best practices. Your solid knowledge of financial analysis and forecasting will be essential in this role. Proficiency in MS Office and financial management software such as SAP is required. We're looking for someone with an analytical mind coupled with strategic ability. Excellent organisational skills are vital for managing various responsibilities; outstanding communication skills are needed for interacting with different departments.

• Proven experience as a Financial Controller or similar role
• In-depth knowledge of corporate finance and accounting principles, laws and best practices
• Solid knowledge of financial analysis and forecasting
