Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Financial Controller to lead their finance team in Perak.

This role will provide you with the opportunity to demonstrate your leadership skills, financial acumen, and strategic thinking. You will be responsible for core financial reporting functions including management reporting, budgetary control, treasury management, and internal control compliance. Your expertise will be crucial in safeguarding the company's financial position and developing the finance team.

What you'll do:

As a Financial Controller, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the financial future of the organisation. You will lead a dedicated finance team, overseeing all aspects of financial reporting, budgetary control, treasury management, and internal control compliance. Your insights will guide executive management in making informed decisions about business activities. You will also support strategic development within the organisation, ensuring that operational action plans are effectively implemented. Your role will involve liaising with various stakeholders, both internal and external, including Head Office and regulatory agencies. Furthermore, you will oversee feasibility studies and due diligence for potential projects or investments.

  • Provide leadership of core financial reporting functions
  • Ensure credibility of financial activities by providing timely analysis of budgets, financial trends and forecasts
  • Advise executive management on the financial implications of business activities
  • Support strategic development for the organisation and monitor operational action plans
  • Liaise with various internal and external stakeholders including Head Office, tax and other financial related regulatory agencies
  • Oversee feasibility studies and due diligence of potential projects/investments

What you bring:

The ideal candidate for this Financial Controller position brings a wealth of experience in leading finance teams within large organisations. You possess professional accounting qualifications such as ACCA or CIMA, although candidates with a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting coupled with relevant experience are also encouraged to apply. With over 10 years of leadership experience under your belt, you have proven your ability to plan, prioritise and achieve performance goals. Your excellent communication skills enable you to articulate complex financial information clearly to both finance professionals and non-finance colleagues alike.

  • Professional accounting qualification such as ACCA or CIMA is advantageous
  • Over 10 years of leadership working experience
  • Bachelor Degree in Accounting is encouraged but relevant experience is essential
  • Ability to plan, prioritise and achieve performance goals
