Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Financial Controller to join their team in Penang.

What you'll do:
As a Financial Controller, you will play a pivotal role in leading the site's finance function. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include overseeing financial operations, implementing reliable systems for transaction recording and reconciliation, conducting cash report analyses, producing management accounts, preparing returns for group management, coordinating annual budgets and business plans, and managing statutory accounts, audit & tax reporting requirements. Your unique ideas and influence will be key in challenging the status quo and driving financial success.
- Oversee daily financial operations, ensuring all transactions are properly recorded and controlled to meet legal requirements
- Implement, control and supervise reliable systems for recording and reconciling transactions
- Ensure supplier invoices are paid appropriately, adhering to payment terms and conditions
- Conduct weekly cash report analysis, investigating variances as required
- Produce monthly Management Accounts and supporting analysis
- Prepare quarterly returns for Group management
- Coordinate the preparation of Annual Budgets and Business Plans
- Manage statutory Accounts, Audit & Tax reporting requirements
What you bring:
The ideal candidate for this Financial Controller position brings a wealth of knowledge and experience in accounting or finance. You hold a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting or Finance or related subjects such as Mathematics or Economics from an accredited institution. You are CIMA qualified (though ACCA/ACA qualifications will also be considered), have experience with both local and IFRS Accounting Standards, and have at least 10 years of progressive professional experience. Your background includes demonstrable experience in standard finance tasks such as month-end processes, statutory accounts, cost analysis, variance reporting, forecasting, budgeting, and audit. Prior accounting experience in a manufacturing environment is essential, as is experience in managing teams and developing budgets and business plans.
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Accounting or Finance with related subjects like Mathematics or Economics from an accredited institution
