Our client is seeking an experienced and dedicated Assistant Finance Controller to join their team in Penang.
This role offers a unique opportunity to oversee all accounting and finance functions across multiple operations in Malaysia, China, Singapore, Hong Kong, Korea, and Taiwan. The successful candidate will be responsible for financial reporting, cash flow management, forecasting, analysis, taxation, project costing and audit functions. This role also involves implementing and monitoring internal controls to ensure statutory compliance and group alignment across the region.
What you'll do:
As an Assistant Finance Controller, you will play a pivotal role in managing all accounting and finance-related duties of the organization. You will be tasked with ensuring statutory compliance and group alignment across the region through implementation and monitoring of internal controls. Your role will also involve keeping abreast with tax law changes & their implications on the business while identifying & executing tax planning ideas. Furthermore, you will develop finance models to provide financial appraisals on strategic initiatives and business opportunities for the organization. A key part of your role will be providing proactive leadership in managing the staff.
- Manage all accounting and finance-related duties of the organization such as financial reporting, cash flow management, forecasting, analysis, taxation, project costing and audit functions.
- Implement and monitor internal controls to ensure statutory compliance and group alignment across the region.
- Monitor tax law changes & the implications on the business.
- Identify & execute tax planning ideas and opportunities for tax incentives.
- Develop finance model to provide financial appraisals on strategic initiatives and business opportunities for the organization.
- Provide proactive and functional leadership in leading, motivating, appraising, managing the staff.
What you bring:
The ideal candidate for this Assistant Finance Controller position brings a wealth of experience in finance or accounting along with a strong understanding of SAP, SOX, custom and tax act, companies act etc. You are proactive towards digitalization in an industrial 4.0 environment. Your strong leadership skills enable you to effectively lead, motivate and appraise staff. Additionally, your experience in developing finance models for strategic initiatives will be crucial in this role.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting or equivalent.
- Minimum 8 years of experience as head of finance or accounting.
- Proficiency with SAP, SOX, custom and tax act, companies act etc.
- Proactive approach towards digitalization in an industrial 4.0 environment.
- Strong leadership skills with experience in leading, motivating and appraising staff.
- Experience in developing finance models for strategic initiatives.
