Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Financial Controller to join their finance department. This role offers an exciting opportunity to be part of the management team, reporting directly to the General Manager with a dotted line to the group CFO. The successful candidate will oversee all finance, accounting, and reporting activities, ensuring compliance with GAAP standards and regulatory requirements. They will also play a crucial role in risk assessment, cash flow forecasting, and tracking the performance of invested assets. What you'll do:
As a Financial Controller, your role will be pivotal in overseeing all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems while ensuring compliance with appropriate GAAP standards and regulatory requirements. You will be responsible for maintaining internal controls for revenue receipts, costs, program budgets, and actual expenditures. Your expertise will be vital in coordinating both internal & external audits as well as managing organizational cash flow forecasting. Your keen analytic skills will be put to use in assessing operational risks and implementing risk-mitigation strategies. Additionally, you will manage the performance of invested assets according to policies and investment guidelines.
- Maintain internal control and safeguards for receipt of revenue, costs, and program budgets and actual expenditures.
- Periodically analyze and report manufacturing costs of all products to ensure correctness of transfer pricing.
- Coordinate both internal & external audits and work with auditors to facilitate the audit process and address any findings.
- Assist in the annual budgeting and planning process; administer and review all financial plans.
- Assess risks associated with operations and implement appropriate risk-mitigation strategies.
- Comply with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation.
- Manage and track the performance of invested assets in keeping with policies and investment guidelines.
- Participate actively in continuous improvement process.
What you bring:
As an ideal candidate for the Financial Controller position, you bring a minimum of a BA degree along with CPA or MBA qualifications. You have at least 3 years of experience as a Senior Management within the manufacturing industry or sector. Your solid experience in coordinating audit activities, managing reporting, budget development and analysis, accounts payable and receivable, general ledger, payroll, and accounting for investments sets you apart. You are proficient in Manufacturing cost accounting and have experience with MS Office and SAP FI/CO. Your strong interpersonal and communication skills enable you to effectively communicate key data to all levels of the organization.
- Minimum of a BA; CPA and/or MBA preferred.
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a controller within the manufacturing industry or sector.
- Solid experience coordinating audit activities and managing reporting, budget development and analysis.
- Proficiency in Manufacturing cost accounting.
- Experienced with MS Office and SAP FI/CO.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to effectively communicate key data.
- Ability to translate complex financial concepts to individuals at all levels including finance and non-finance managers.
