FP&A Assistant Manager

This client is seeking a strategic and analytical Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) Assistant Manager to drive financial performance. This role involves business partnering primarily with commercial and operation teams, providing professional guidance using data-driven insights to optimize pricing, margins, and growth initiatives.

What you'll do:

As an FP&A Assistant Manager, your role will be pivotal in driving the financial performance of the company. You will work closely with various teams to analyze cost drivers, provide pricing guidance, and use data-driven insights to optimize margins. Your expertise in financial modelling will be crucial in supporting contract negotiations and profitability analysis. Additionally, you will play a key role in process improvement initiatives and maintain databases of product attributes. Your contribution will extend to supporting month-end reporting activities.

• Partner with sales, marketing and operation teams in analyzing cost drivers, translate into unit costs and provide guidance in pricing.
• Provide professional guidance to stakeholders with data and analytics, often involves scenario planning and simulations.
• Chair & lead the discussion of commercial performance review highlight and track key actionable items.
• Support contract negotiations with profitability / scenario analysis.
• Mentor junior colleagues for best practices.
• Participate and support on adhoc basis key projects / critical business planning requirements.
• Support in various process improvements initiatives, including system implementation & testing, shaping stakeholders’ best practices.
• Regularly update database of product attributes and key parameters.
• Support in month end reporting, including standard sales reports, sales bridge with narratives.

What you bring:

The ideal candidate for this FP&A Assistant Manager role brings more than six years of experience in commercial finance, audit or business partnering within a manufacturing environment. You have a strong track record of delivering excellence and possess expertise in financial modelling, pricing analysis and margin optimization. Your strong communication skills enable you to influence non-finance stakeholders effectively. An MBA or professional certification in accounting would be advantageous as would advanced Excel capabilities and experience within the packaging industry.

• More than 6 years in commercial finance, audit, FP&A or business partnering (manufacturing environment preferred).
• Strong track record of performance with a history of delivering excellence.
• Expertise in financial modelling, pricing analysis & margin optimization.
• Strong communication skills, particularly when influencing non-finance stakeholders.
• (Preferred) MBA or Professional certification in accounting (i.e. ACCA, CPA)
• (Preferred) Advanced excel capabilities (Mass data management, merging databases / table using power query)
• (Preferred) Experience in the packaging industry
