What you'll do:

As an Assistant Finance Manager based in Penang, you will be entrusted with a broad spectrum of responsibilities that underpin the organisation’s financial stability. Your day-to-day activities will involve managing comprehensive accounting functions—from preparing detailed reports to overseeing budgetary planning—while ensuring all processes adhere strictly to regulatory standards. You will collaborate closely with internal teams as well as external partners such as auditors and tax agents. Your ability to implement robust controls will be essential in maintaining accurate records and supporting compliance initiatives like e-Invoicing under LHDN guidelines. By nurturing a supportive team environment within the Finance Department, you will help colleagues thrive while collectively achieving departmental goals. Your role will also include guiding credit control efforts, managing cash flows prudently, reviewing variances against forecasts, and ensuring all statutory submissions are completed accurately and on time. Success in this position means being proactive in identifying areas for improvement while fostering a culture of dependability and shared achievement.

  • Take responsibility for the overall management of financial and accounting functions, including maintaining full sets of accounts and ensuring timely submission of financial and management reports.
  • Prepare budgets and forecasts, manage cash flow efficiently, and ensure adequate working capital for smooth operations.
  • Oversee, review, evaluate, improve, and implement effective financial controls within all accounting operational processes to maintain accuracy and compliance.
  • Liaise with external auditors, tax agents, and bankers to ensure all matters relating to audits, taxation, and statutory requirements are handled with precision and professionalism.
  • Manage company cash flows to optimise fund utilisation while safeguarding sufficient liquidity for daily operations.
  • Supervise credit control management activities to minimise risk exposure and maintain healthy receivables.
  • Prepare annual budgets, conduct financial forecasts, and perform variance analysis to support strategic decision-making.
  • Review financial data and reports meticulously to guarantee accuracy, completeness, and integrity of all accounting records.
  • Ensure full compliance with e-Invoice requirements as per Lembaga Hasil Dalam Negeri Malaysia (LHDN) guidelines by monitoring issuance, validation, reconciliation, and system controls.
  • Oversee compliance with SST regulations (if applicable), ensuring timely submission of SST returns in accordance with statutory obligations.
  • Lead various functions within the Finance Department by supervising and motivating subordinates so they perform their roles effectively.

What you bring:
