What you'll do:
- Support the timely closing of monthly accounts by preparing accurate financial reports and schedules in alignment with management’s target timelines, ensuring all data is meticulously compiled.
- Perform detailed analyses of company results by identifying fluctuations and providing justifications in comparison to historical trends, business plans, and budgets, delivering valuable insights for business improvement.
- Conduct monthly reconciliations of intercompany balances, promptly investigating discrepancies and resolving them efficiently to maintain accurate records across entities.
- Assist with audit and tax processes by liaising with auditors, supporting tax audits, and ensuring full compliance with all relevant regulations and statutory requirements.
- Take responsibility for credit control activities by resolving customer queries professionally, following up on outstanding payments, and maintaining positive relationships with clients.
- Provide support on various finance operation matters including EPF cashless transactions, Cryo Maintenance collection, customer refunds, and other day-to-day operational tasks as required.
- Participate actively in ad-hoc assignments such as pricing reviews, budget planning exercises, fixed asset management, and checking doctor fees entitlement reports to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Assist in the implementation of government compliance projects such as e-Invoice and SST by collaborating with internal teams and proposing effective process flows when necessary.
- Contribute to automation projects aimed at improving financial processes and productivity by supporting system implementation initiatives within the Finance Department.
- Undertake other administrative duties or ad-hoc tasks as assigned to ensure smooth functioning of the finance operations.
What you bring:
- A Bachelor’s degree majoring in accounting, finance or banking (or equivalent), complemented by a recognised professional qualification such as ACCA, CIMA, CPA or MIA which demonstrates your commitment to professional standards.
- At least 3-4 years of relevant experience in finance roles with a preference for candidates who have spent at least one year in auditing combined with two to three years’ experience in commercial finance or accounts positions.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Excel for data analysis, Word for documentation purposes, and PowerPoint for presenting findings clearly to stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to handle full sets of accounts independently while maintaining high levels of accuracy under tight deadlines.
- Experience or familiarity with ERP systems—ideally Microsoft Business Central 365—which enables efficient management of complex financial data across multiple functions.
- Strong analytical thinking skills paired with effective problem-solving abilities that allow you to interpret financial information accurately and provide meaningful commentary on performance trends.
- A collaborative approach as a dependable team player who communicates effectively across departments while supporting shared goals within the finance function.
- A proactive attitude towards learning new systems or processes—especially those related to automation or government compliance projects—ensuring adaptability within an evolving regulatory landscape.
