Senior Finance Executive / Assistant Finance Manager

Our client is seeking a Senior Finance Executive/Assistant Finance Manager to join their team in Kuala Lumpur. This role offers an exciting opportunity to handle the full spectrum of accounting functions. The successful candidate will ensure timely month-end and year-end closing processes, prepare journal entries, and ensure proper documentation and compliance with accounting standards. They will also reconcile GL accounts, investigate variances, and prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports.

What you'll do:

As a Senior Finance Executive/Assistant Finance Manager, you will play a crucial role in managing the company's finances. Your responsibilities will include handling all aspects of accounting functions such as Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, GL, and fixed assets. You will be responsible for ensuring timely month-end and year-end closing processes. Additionally, you will prepare journal entries while ensuring proper documentation and compliance with accounting standards. You will also be tasked with reconciling GL accounts and investigating any variances. Furthermore, you will prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements along with management reports.

• Manage the full spectrum of accounting functions including Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, GL, and fixed assets.
• Ensure timely month-end and year-end closing processes.
• Prepare journal entries ensuring proper documentation and compliance with accounting standards.
• Reconcile GL accounts and investigate any variances.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports.
• Liaise with external auditors, tax agents, and regulatory authorities.

What you bring:

The ideal candidate for the Senior Finance Executive/Assistant Finance Manager position holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field. They bring a minimum of 1–3 years of relevant working experience in accounting or finance. They possess solid knowledge of accounting principles and local statutory requirements. Their strong interpersonal skills enable them to effectively liaise with external auditors, tax agents, and regulatory authorities. They have excellent problem-solving skills which they use to investigate variances in GL accounts. Lastly, they are capable of preparing comprehensive financial statements and management reports.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
• Minimum 1–3 years of relevant working experience in accounting or finance.
• Solid knowledge of accounting principles and local statutory requirements.
• Strong interpersonal skills to liaise with external auditors, tax agents, and regulatory authorities.
