A leading company in services is seeking a Senior Finance Executive to join their team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to be part of a dynamic finance team, where you will have the chance to utilise your skills in accounting, auditing, and financial management. You will be based in Petaling Jaya and report directly to the Finance Manager.
What you'll do:
As a Senior Finance Executive, you'll play a crucial role in managing the company's finances. Your responsibilities will span from handling full set accounting inclusive financial statements to preparing monthly management accounts. You'll also be involved in various aspects of financial operations analysis. Your role extends beyond traditional finance duties; you'll work closely with different business units for transaction analysis and other requirements. Additionally, you'll manage both internal and external audits while ensuring all open actions are cleared within stipulated timelines. Your contribution will also be vital in implementing new policies, controls, and process improvements.
- You will be responsible for the full set accounting inclusive financial statements.
- You will prepare journals for month-end close activities, balance sheet reconciliations, fixed assets register and intercompany transactions.
- You will prepare monthly management accounts, including finance operation analysis.
- You will work closely with the business as required, such as transaction analysis, assessment of provisions, impairments, and movements of reconciliations.
- You will manage internal and external audits, including audit issues, clearing any open actions by the stipulated timeline.
- You will assist in ad hoc projects as part of finance team initiatives such as implementation of new policies, controls and process improvement.
- You will liaise with legal counsel and company secretary related to the filling of statutory records as necessary.
What you bring:
As a Senior Finance Executive, your background in Accounting or a related field is essential while your professional qualifications (ACCA/CIMA/ICAEW/MACPA) will be an added advantage. Ideally, you should bring at least 2-3 years' audit experience from a professional accounting firm or similar experiences from the commercial industry. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is expected; hands-on knowledge of MS Navision ERP would be advantageous.
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or professional qualification (ACCA/ CIMA/ ICAEW/ MACPA)
- At least 2 - 3 years’ audit experience in professional accounting firm preferred or similar experiences in commercial industry
- Possess Microsoft Excel skills. Preferable with MS Navision ERP hands on knowledge.
