Our client is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Accountant to join their team in Kuala Lumpur. This role offers an exciting opportunity to manage and execute month-end and quarter-end closing activities, assist in the preparation of financial statements, conduct variance analysis on GL accounts, and develop internal controls around GL accounting processes. As an Accountant, your primary role will be to ensure accurate financial reporting through managing and executing month-end and quarter-end closing activities. You will also assist in the preparation of financial statements by ensuring that the general ledger accounts are accurately recorded. Your keen eye for detail will be crucial in conducting variance analysis on GL accounts to identify discrepancies. Furthermore, you will play a key role in developing internal controls around GL accounting processes.
- Manage and execute month-end and quarter-end closing activities, including journal entries, adjustments, and accruals to support accurate financial reporting.
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements and other reporting documents by ensuring that the general ledger accounts are accurately recorded and in compliance to the accounting standards
- Conduct variance analysis on GL accounts to identify discrepancies, investigate unusual transactions, and provide insights to management on financial performance.
- Develop and implement internal controls around GL accounting processes, maintaining compliance with relevant policies, regulatory standards, and audit requirements.

The ideal candidate for this Accountant position brings a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field or equivalent professional qualifications. With 3 to 6 years of experience in financial accounting under your belt, you have honed your skills in managing month-end and quarter-end closing activities as well as preparing financial statements. Your strong interpersonal and communication skills enable you to effectively collaborate with various stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field, or equivalent professional qualifications.
- 3 to 6 years of experience in financial accounting.
- Demonstrates responsibility, a positive attitude, maturity, and the ability to work independently.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
