Finance Senior Executive

A conglomerate is seeking a Senior Executive in Finance to join their team. Located in the heart of Kuala Lumpur City Centre, this role offers an opportunity to be part of a company that has diversified investments across various sectors. What you'll do:

As a Senior Executive in Finance, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth running of our client's finance department. You will be responsible for preparing management accounts, overseeing audits, reviewing financial reports of investee entities, preparing tax computations and estimates among other duties. Your ability to liaise effectively with both internal and external parties will be key in ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements. Your participation in operational matters such as fund management will also be vital. This role offers an excellent opportunity for those looking to take their career to the next level within a dynamic environment.

  • Ensure timely and accurate preparation and completion of management accounts, group consolidation, statutory financial statements, and various management reports for both internal and external purposes.
  • Oversee the group and entity external audits annually. Liaise with external auditors on impairment assessment, review of accounting treatment and internal controls until completion of audit.
  • Review financial reports of investee entities.
  • Prepare tax computations and tax estimates, review corporate tax returns, respond to queries in relation to corporate, service and withholding tax matters and ensure compliance with respective tax requirements such as transfer pricing and indirect tax compliance.
  • Prepare group and entity level budgets and forecasts with variance analysis.
  • Liaise with internal and external parties i.e. company secretary, treasurer, regulatory authorities and ensure compliance with all matters relating to regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in operational matters such as maintenance of sufficient working capital, fund management, payments and insurance renewals.
  • Initiate continuous improvement initiatives for accounting procedures and operational matters.
  • Undertake various ad-hoc assignments, analysis reporting and liaise with internal and external parties on financial queries.

What you bring:

The ideal candidate for the Senior Executive in Finance role will be a university graduate in accounting and finance or a member of a recognised professional body. You will bring strong technical knowledge of accounting standards and group consolidation to the table. Your audit experience will be highly advantageous in this role. You are analytical with excellent data presentation skills. Your energetic, meticulous and result-oriented nature coupled with your ability to learn quickly and take a hands-on approach will set you apart. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel / Word / PowerPoint is required, while SAP or CODA experience would be an added advantage.

  • A university graduate in accounting and finance or a member of a recognised professional body such as MICPA, ACCA, ICAEW etc.
  • Strong technical knowledge of accounting standards and group consolidation.
  • Audit experience is a definite advantage.
  • Analytical, with good data presentation skills.
  • Energetic, meticulous, result oriented, fast learner and hands-on.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel / Word / PowerPoint; SAP or CODA experience is an added advantage.
