Our client is seeking a Senior Cost Accountant to join their team in Penang.

The successful candidate will play a key role in cost accounting, inventory control, general accounting, reporting, and fixed assets management.
What you'll do:
As a Senior Cost Accountant, you will be at the heart of our client's operations. Your primary responsibilities will include production accounting where you will update standard costs, material master and routing. You will also be responsible for labor tracking and reporting as well as variance analysis & reporting. You will manage inventory control including account control and reconciliations for production (RM/WIP/FG), demo software and service. You will perform year-end physical count audits and cost settlement run in SAP. Your role will also involve general accounting tasks such as month-end journal entries for cost accounting/inventory/fixed assets and inventory accounts reconciliations. You will conduct RBNI (Received But Not Invoiced) analysis and freight analysis. Additionally, you will prepare inventory metrics & roll forwards reports as well as month-end closing reports. You will also handle audits (internal & external), ensure internal control compliance, process improvements and cross training within the finance team. Lastly, you will manage fixed assets through physical count and tagging.
- Production Accounting: Update Standard Cost, Material Master and Routing, Labor Tracking and Reporting, Variance Analysis & Reporting, Project Cost Accounting.
- Inventory Control: Account Control and Reconciliations for Production (RM/WIP/FG), Demo, Software and Service.
- Perform Year-end physical count Audits and Cost Settlement Run in SAP.
- General Accounting: Month-End Journal Entries for Cost Accounting/Inventory/Fixed Assets, Inventory Accounts Reconciliations.
- RBNI (Received But Not Invoiced) Analysis and Freight Analysis.
- Reporting: Inventory Metrics & Roll forwards, Prepare Month-end closing and reporting.
- General Areas: Audits (Internal & External), Internal Control Compliance, Process Improvements, Cross Training within Finance Team.
- Fixed Assets: Physical Count and Tagging.
What you bring:
As a Senior Cost Accountant, you will bring a wealth of experience and knowledge to the role. You possess a degree in Finance/Accountancy or equivalent and have a minimum of 3-6 years of working experience in a related field. You have thorough knowledge in product costing, variance analysis, inventory reconciliation and inventory count. Your skill set includes proficiency in Microsoft Office and mandatory SAP (FICO and MM). You understand the dynamics of a production driven environment and are able to thrive in such settings. Above all, you maintain a positive attitude at work.
- Degree in Finance/Accountancy or equivalent.
- Minimum 3-6 years of working experience in related field.
- Thorough knowledge in product costing, variance analysis, inventory reconciliation and inventory count.
- Required Skill(s): Microsoft Office
- SAP (mandatory) FICO and MM
- Thorough understanding of a production driven environment.
- Positive attitude at work.
