An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Finance Executive to join a prominent Malaysian private conglomerate with a diverse portfolio of businesses operating across multiple countries. What you'll do:
As a Senior Finance Executive, you will play an integral role in the financial operations of our client's diverse business portfolio. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include preparing full sets of accounts, liaising with both internal departments and external auditors, ensuring timely submission of tax-related matters, identifying and resolving financial discrepancies, maintaining accounting records, and assisting the Finance Manager with budgeting, forecasting, and other ad-hoc tasks. This role requires flexibility especially during month-end and year-end closings.
- Preparation of full sets of accounts including monthly reconciliations such as intercompany accounts and bank reconciliation
- Liaise with external auditors and attend to audit queries; also liaise with internal departments to obtain or furnish required information and analysis
- Timely preparation and submission of tax related matters including SST
- Identify, report, and resolve issues and discrepancies in financial records
- Ensure accounting records and documents are properly maintained and filed
- Assist Finance Manager with budgeting, forecasting and ad-hoc assignments
What you bring:
The ideal Senior Finance Executive candidate will bring a wealth of experience in finance or accounting along with a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance. A certified professional qualification such as ACCA or CPA would be advantageous. You should have at least three years' relevant work experience under your belt. Your strong communication skills will enable you to liaise effectively with various departments while your analytical skills will help you identify, report, and resolve financial discrepancies. Flexibility around month-end and year-end closing periods is essential.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance is required
- Certified professional or pursuing to be one (eg. ACCA, CPA or equivalent) would be an added advantage
- At least 3 years of relevant working experience in finance or accounting
- Good communication skills to effectively liaise with various departments
- Analytical skills to identify, report, and resolve financial discrepancies
- Flexibility in relation to working hours, especially at month-end and year-end closing
