Our client is seeking a meticulous and organised Accountant to join their Finance Team in Kuala Lumpur. What you'll do:
As an Accountant, you will play a crucial role within the Finance Department. Your primary responsibility will be project accounting, bookkeeping, and supporting Commercial Finance for an innovative program. You will oversee the finance workstream integrationand ensure accurate financial recordkeeping. Additionally, you will contribute to process improvement initiatives, support finance queries for statutory audits, provide coverage for the finance team as needed, and take on ad-hoc tasks or assignments as required.
- Lead and own the Revenue Recognition for the program including management reporting, compliance tracking contractual milestones and accounting adjustments when required.
- End-to-end process oversight for O2C (Order to Cash)
- Work closely with Operations Team on customer collections/funds and bank transactions are accounted for and reconciled with Oracle ERP
- Compute and track indirect cost and allocations required for the program audit and proforma financial statements.
- Support process improvements initiatives such as automation and software changes.
- Provide coverage for Finance Team as needed.
What you bring:
The ideal candidate for this Accountant position brings a wealth of experience in accounting along with a recognised degree in accountancy or equivalent professional qualifications. With a minimum of 3-5 years of experience in the field, you have proven your ability to handle project accounting and financial analysis, particularly within the training and learning industry. Your familiarity with general accounting software such as Oracle, SAP, and Xero will be advantageous in this role. You are comfortable working with tight deadlines and are known for being meticulous, organised, and able to prioritise work effectively. Your strong problem-solving skills and excellent interpersonal and communication skills make you a valuable team player.
- Recognised Degree in Accountancy or equivalent professional qualifications.
- Minimum 3-5 years of accounting experience. Proven experience in project accounting, training or learning industry will be advantageous.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial analysis especially in the training and learning industry.
- Familiarity with general accounting software such as Oracle, SAP and Xero would be advantageous.
- Proficiency in Excel.
- Comfortable working with tight deadlines.
- Meticulous, organised and able to prioritise work.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
