Our client is on a mission to power the future with their advanced technology where seeking a highly motivated, experienced Senior Cost Accounting Manager to support their new production facility in Penang, Malaysia. This role offers the opportunity to develop inventory and costing processes, provide analysis and insight into gross margin results, and contribute significantly to the commercialisation of their innovative product.
What you'll do:
As a Senior Cost Accounting Manager, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the financial landscape of our client's innovative production facility. Your expertise in developing inventory costing methods will be crucial in ensuring compliance with GAAP for their first commercial product. You will also be instrumental in designing cost management processes that accurately reflect business activities such as cost of goods sold, inventory, labour usage, etc. Collaborating closely with Manufacturing and Supply Chain teams, you will ensure timely reporting of inventory data. Your role extends beyond just numbers - your insights will guide senior management decisions, making your contribution vital to the company's success.
- Develop the inventory costing method and related labour and overhead allocation for the company's first commercial product.
- Design and implement cost management processes using appropriate costing methodologies.
- Represent Accounting in the enhancement of the inventory and cost module of Microsoft Dynamics 365 ERP.
- Collaborate with Manufacturing and Supply Chain organisations to ensure timely and accurate reporting of inventory data.
- Own and execute month-end close process, including preparation of journal entries, reconciliation and analyses related to cost of goods sold.
- Provide senior management with clear analysis of monthly actual COGS and inventory results.
- Plan and manage cycle count and annual physical inventories.
- Coordinate with external and internal auditors during quarterly reviews and annual audit.

- Bachelor's degree in accounting.
- US GAAP experience required.
- At least 8 years of relevant accounting experience, including direct experience in a cost accounting role for a manufacturing company.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to communicate effectively with senior management.
- Proven track record of success and increased levels of responsibility.
- Experience with process improvement.
- Advanced Excel skills & proficiency in Word & PowerPoint; familiarity with Dynamic 365 ERP is a plus.
