A leading company in cash and security services with over half a century of experience and an extensive network across the country, is seeking a Senior Accounts Executive. This role offers an exciting opportunity to take on full set accounting responsibilities, including financial statements and intercompany transactions. You will be part of a dynamic team, working closely with the business on various projects such as transaction analysis, stock counts, and process improvement initiatives. This position is based in Petaling Jaya.

What you'll do:

As a Senior Accounts Executive, you will play a pivotal role in managing the full spectrum of accounting operations. Your responsibilities will include preparing financial statements, conducting month-end close activities, and managing intercompany transactions. You will also be involved in preparing monthly management accounts and performing finance operation analysis. Your role extends beyond traditional accounting tasks; you will work closely with the business on various projects such as transaction analysis and process improvements. Managing both internal and external audits will also fall under your purview. This role requires a high level of commitment and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

  • Responsible for the full set accounting inclusive financial statements
  • Preparation of journals for month end close activities, financial statements, balance sheet reconciliations, fixed assets register and intercompany transactions
  • Preparation of monthly management account, including finance operation analysis
  • Work closely with the business on transaction analysis, assessment of provisions, impairments, and movements of reconciliations, stock counts, and fixed assets verification
  • Manage internal and external audits, including audit issues, clearing any open actions by the stipulated timeline
  • Assist in any ad hoc projects as part of finance team initiatives such as implementation of new policies, controls and process improvement
  • Liaise legal counsel and company secretary related to the filling of statutory records as necessary

What you bring:

The ideal candidate for the Senior Accounts Executive role will bring a wealth of experience and a strong skill set. You should hold a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or a professional qualification such as ACCA, CIMA, ICAEW, or MACPA. A minimum of 2-3 years' audit experience in a professional accounting firm or similar experiences in the commercial industry is preferred. Your ability to work in a multi-divisions environment will be crucial, along with your excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You should possess good analytical skills, highest standards of accuracy, and be meticulous and highly organised. The ability to think creatively, be highly-driven and result oriented is also essential. You should be able to work independently with minimum supervision and handle tight deadlines for reporting and improvement projects. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required, and hands-on knowledge of MS Navision ERP is preferable.

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or professional qualification (ACCA/ CIMA/ ICAEW/ MACPA)
  • Knowledgeable in Blackline Accounting
  • At least 2-3 years’ audit experience in professional accounting firm preferred or similar experiences in commercial industry
  • Ability to work in multi-divisions environment
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Good analytical skills, highest standards of accuracy, meticulous and highly organised
  • Articulate with excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to think creatively, highly-driven and result oriented
  • Ability to work independently with minimum supervision, handle tight deadlines for reporting and improvement projects
  • Possess Microsoft Excel skills. Preferable with MS Navision ERP hands on knowledge
