R2R Senior Specialist

An exciting R2R Senior Specialist job has just become available at one of the IT MNCs based in Kuala Lumpur. Reporting to the R2R Manager, you will be a part of the dynamic team.

About the R2R Senior Specialist Role:
In this position, you will be responsible for the recording of GL transactions, as well as end-to-end financial reporting to meet internal and external reporting requirements in compliance with group policies and local legislative requirements and ensuring that adequate controls and efficient transaction systems and processes are in place.

Key Responsibilities:

• Record general ledger accounting entries on time, accurately and in compliance with group accounting policies and local legislation
• Record project accounting and intangible asset capitalisation transactions, including working with business stakeholders to ensure the accuracy and timely capture of information
• Prepare or review monthly balance sheet reconciliations, including the investigation and resolution of reconciling items. Conduct regular assessments of key areas of risk and report to the team leader as and when necessary
• Prepare statutory financial statements accurately, on time, and in line with local legislation
• Prepare and collate information required for half-year and annual audit compliance, and work with auditors to ensure smooth progress and no surprises
• Liaise with other teams within finance (O2C, P2P, controlling, tax, treasury and business partners) to ensure accurate recording of transactions
• Provide clear and constructive ongoing technical coaching and feedback to more junior team members
• Work collaboratively with stakeholders across the group to ensure initiatives are prioritised and delivered on agreed timelines
• Support the APAC finance and business services function with additional ad hoc tasks as required

To succeed in the R2R Senior Specialist role, you will need to have the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Key Requirements:

• Degree in accounting, finance or similar qualifications
• Six to eight years of relevant experience in general ledger accounting and reporting, including month-end financial close and statutory reporting, or an equivalent time as an auditor with a global accounting firm
• Proven track record in challenging the status quo and continuously improving the team’s processes and outputs, including via automation and system enhancements
• Understands and appreciates the need for change, with the desire and drive to contribute to change initiatives
