What you'll do:
- Lead the monthly closing of accounts for the property management subsidiary, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in all financial records.
- Manage short-stay accommodation revenue cycles including booking platform reconciliations, night audit processes, guest payments, deposits, cleaning fees, and service charges.
- Ensure proper revenue recognition, cost allocation, and precise tracking of booking settlements to maintain transparent financial operations.
- Oversee accounts receivable/payable, vendor management, housekeeping/maintenance billing, and operational cost controls for efficient resource utilisation.
- Prepare monthly management accounts, financial statements, variance analysis reports, and cash flow forecasts to inform strategic decision-making.
- Strengthen internal controls by developing standard operating procedures tailored for hospitality finance operations.
- Handover accounting responsibilities once subsidiary accounts are stable and rotate to oversee finance functions in other divisions within the group.
- Standardise financial processes, reporting templates, and internal controls across all business units to ensure consistency and compliance.
- Act as a group resource person by providing technical guidance and supporting group-wide reporting initiatives.
- Prepare or review corporate tax computations including CP204 estimations and submissions while ensuring compliance with e-Invoice regulations (IRBM), SST reporting/filings, tourism tax requirements, Pahang Sustainability Tax, withholding tax, and other statutory obligations.
What you bring:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent qualification is required for this position.
- Membership with MIA is mandatory for compliance purposes.
- A minimum of 5–7 years relevant working experience ideally involving property management, hospitality or real estate sectors as well as group reporting/consolidation responsibilities.
- Strong knowledge of MFRS standards alongside Malaysian tax laws including e-Invoice regulations (IRBM), SST compliance requirements and tourism-related taxes such as TTX or Pahang Sustainability Tax.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel coupled with familiarity using accounting systems for effective data analysis.
- Exceptional analytical skills combined with high attention to detail enable you to identify process gaps and implement improvements across subsidiaries.
- Effective communication abilities paired with supportive leadership qualities allow you to guide junior team members through complex assignments.
- High integrity along with responsibility ensures trustworthy handling of sensitive financial information especially during divisional rotations within the group.
- Adaptability is essential for transitioning between different business units while maintaining consistent standards of excellence.
- Experience providing technical support or advisory services to finance teams enhances your value as a dependable resource person.
