What you'll do:
As Finance Manager based in Selangor’s Seremban/Nilai area, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the organisation’s financial health. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve managing all core finance activities—from overseeing accounting operations to preparing statutory reports—while ensuring compliance with relevant standards. You will lead budgeting cycles in partnership with department heads, analyse variances for strategic insight, and collaborate closely with both commercial and operational teams to optimise business outcomes. By driving process improvements and strengthening internal controls, you will help build a dependable finance function that supports organisational goals. Your ability to mentor junior staff will be crucial in cultivating a supportive team environment focused on accuracy and continuous improvement. Success in this role means not only maintaining rigorous financial discipline but also contributing positively to broader business strategy through thoughtful analysis and stakeholder engagement.
- Oversee all aspects of finance and accounting operations, ensuring meticulous management of general ledger activities, accounts receivable and payable processes, tax compliance, treasury functions, and comprehensive management reporting.
- Prepare timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with Malaysian Financial Reporting Standards (MFRS), local statutory requirements, and internal company policies.
- Lead the annual budgeting process as well as monthly forecasting cycles by collaborating with various departments to ensure realistic targets and effective resource allocation.
- Analyse financial variances against budgeted figures and provide actionable insights that support strategic planning and operational improvements across the organisation.
- Partner closely with operations and commercial teams to deliver accurate financial data that informs key business decisions while evaluating cost structures, profitability metrics, and financial risks.
- Champion process improvements within the finance function by identifying opportunities to strengthen internal controls and enhance overall efficiency.
- Liaise effectively with external auditors, tax agents, banks, and regulatory authorities to manage audit processes, tax planning strategies, SST compliance matters, and other statutory obligations.
- Ensure robust implementation of internal controls and risk management practices that safeguard company assets and maintain high standards of governance.
- Mentor, guide, and develop a small team of finance professionals by fostering an environment built on accuracy, accountability, collaboration, and continuous learning.
- Promote a culture of transparency by communicating clearly with stakeholders at all levels regarding financial performance, compliance issues, and process enhancements.
What you bring:
To excel as Finance Manager in this organisation’s Seremban/Nilai operation you will bring proven experience managing diverse finance functions within medium-to-large enterprises. Your background should include significant exposure to statutory reporting frameworks such as MFRS alongside practical knowledge of tax planning strategies relevant to Malaysian regulations. You’ll demonstrate reliability when handling complex accounting tasks under pressure while remaining sensitive to the needs of colleagues across different departments. Your interpersonal skills will enable you to communicate clearly with both internal stakeholders—such as operations managers—and external partners like auditors or banks. Experience gained from manufacturing or trading sectors will further enhance your suitability for this role but isn’t strictly required; what matters most is your commitment to nurturing talent within your team through supportive leadership. By combining technical proficiency with emotional intelligence you’ll help create an environment where everyone feels valued—and where accuracy goes hand-in-hand with collaboration.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance or possession of a recognised professional qualification such as ACCA, CPA or CIMA is required for this position.
- At least 6–10 years of relevant experience in finance roles is essential; candidates should have held managerial responsibilities for a minimum of 2–3 years.
- Comprehensive understanding of accounting standards (including MFRS), tax regulations (such as SST), statutory reporting requirements, and best practices in financial governance is necessary.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently while maintaining attention to detail across multiple concurrent tasks within tight deadlines is highly valued.
- Excellent communication skills are needed for effective stakeholder management both internally across departments and externally with auditors or regulatory bodies.
- Proven track record in leading budgeting processes as well as monthly forecasting cycles within complex organisations is desirable.
- Experience supporting manufacturing operations or plant-based environments will be considered an advantage but is not mandatory; familiarity with trading businesses is also beneficial.
- Ability to evaluate cost structures critically while providing insightful analysis on profitability drivers or financial risks is important for success in this role.
- Commitment to mentoring junior team members by fostering an inclusive atmosphere built on accuracy, accountability, collaboration, empathy, and continuous learning is expected.
- Hands-on approach combined with a proactive mindset towards process improvement initiatives will set you apart as an ideal candidate.
