What you'll do:
As Finance Manager at this public-listed plantation & manufacturing and production company, you will play an integral role in shaping the financial health of the organisation. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve overseeing all finance operations from budgeting to statutory reporting while ensuring adherence to rigorous accounting standards. * Oversee and manage all aspects of the Finance Department, ensuring accurate and timely submission of financial and management reports in compliance with statutory requirements.
* Lead the preparation of annual budgets, statutory accounts, and cash flow forecasts while maintaining high standards of accuracy in forecasting operational performance.
* Monitor working capital by managing debtors and inventories effectively to optimise resource utilisation and support business objectives.
* Review and analyse cost accounting reports to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for process improvements that enhance organisational efficiency.
* Support the Business Unit Head in driving value creation initiatives and implementing cost reduction strategies aligned with corporate goals.
* Recommend, implement, monitor, and review internal control systems as well as corporate governance processes to ensure robust financial management.
* Supervise, train, and nurture accounting staff by fostering a collaborative team culture focused on continuous learning and professional growth.
* Liaise with bankers regarding banking facilities, foreign exchange transactions, money market activities, letters of credit, and other related matters.
* Manage daily cash flow requirements and project funding needs to ensure effective control over excess funds while mitigating foreign exchange exposure through appropriate hedging strategies.
* Collaborate closely with marketing on debt collection efforts and compliance with customer credit terms; assist management in formulating pricing policies responsive to commodity price changes.
What you bring:
To excel as Finance Manager at this public-listed plantation & manufacturing and production company, you will bring extensive experience gained from leading finance teams within sizeable organisations—preferably those operating in manufacturing or listed sectors. Your background should reflect deep familiarity with statutory reporting cycles alongside hands-on involvement in budgeting processes. A keen understanding of SAP or equivalent systems is essential for managing complex data flows efficiently. You will have demonstrated your ability to build trust-based relationships both internally—with peers across multiple departments—and externally—with auditors or banking partners. * Possess a degree or professional qualification in accounting from a recognised institution coupled with membership in a relevant professional body.
* Demonstrate at least 10 years’ experience in finance and accounts including previous responsibility for leading departmental teams within large organisations—ideally spanning manufacturing or public-listed environments.
* Showcase proven expertise in preparing statutory accounts, annual budgets, management reports as well as cash flow forecasts under tight deadlines.
* Exhibit strong technical proficiency in SAP or similar enterprise resource planning systems for effective financial data management.
* Display excellent interpersonal skills enabling you to collaborate seamlessly across departments such as marketing, production, logistics, HR, and external parties like auditors or bankers.
* Bring sound knowledge of internal controls design along with practical experience implementing corporate governance best practices within complex organisational structures.
* Evidence capability in managing foreign exchange exposure through appropriate hedging strategies aligned with approved company policies.
* Demonstrate ability to supervise staff effectively by nurturing talent development within your team while promoting knowledge sharing across functions.
