What you'll do:

• Oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in strict accordance with Malaysian Financial Reporting Standards (MFRS) and Companies Act 2016 requirements.
• Ensure seamless alignment of subsidiary accounts with Indian Ind AS or IFRS for accurate group consolidation and timely reporting.
• Manage all aspects of compliance related to tax laws, Sales & Service Tax (SST), transfer pricing regulations, and e-invoicing frameworks within Malaysia.
• Coordinate effectively with auditors, tax consultants, and regulatory authorities to facilitate statutory audits and ensure timely tax filings.
• Lead comprehensive budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis processes by providing actionable insights that inform senior management decisions.
• Implement robust internal controls and standard operating procedures (SOPs) in line with group policies such as SOX or IFC where applicable.
• Drive cost optimisation strategies across research & development, production, and distribution functions to maximise operational efficiency.
• Monitor working capital components including accounts receivable, accounts payable, and inventory to ensure effective cash flow management at all times.
• Collaborate closely with the parent finance team overseas for consolidation activities, reporting timelines, and adherence to SEBI or Indian listing requirements.
• Supervise and develop the local finance team by ensuring ongoing training on accounting standards, compliance matters, and sector-specific regulations.

What you bring:

• Professional degree in Accounting or Finance such as CA, CPA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent is required for this position.
• A minimum of five to eight years’ experience in finance roles is essential, ideally including at least three years within the pharmaceutical, healthcare or manufacturing sectors.
• Comprehensive understanding of Malaysian Financial Reporting Standards (MFRS), corporate tax regulations including SST, and e-invoicing frameworks is necessary.
• Demonstrated experience managing cross-border reporting obligations for parent companies located outside Malaysia is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with sector-specific nuances such as tender business processes, distribution margin calculations, or R&D capitalisation would be advantageous.
• Proficiency in ERP systems like SAP or Oracle along with advanced skills in Excel-based financial modelling are expected.
• Excellent communication abilities in English are required; proficiency in Bahasa Malaysia would be considered an asset.
• Strong analytical skills combined with high integrity are vital for ensuring regulatory compliance across all activities undertaken by the finance function.
• Adaptability when managing both local statutory needs alongside broader group reporting requirements is important for success in this multifaceted role.
