FP&A Manager

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced FP&A Manager to join their team in Kuala Lumpur. This role offers the opportunity to take ownership of comprehensive finance leadership, including local control and compliance, FP&A, treasury, and tax. You will be instrumental in ensuring finance practices adhere to company policies and procedures.

What you'll do:

As an FP&A Manager, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the financial future of our client's operations. You will be responsible for leading comprehensive finance operations within the market, ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures. Your expertise in analysing financial closing results will be crucial in maintaining high-quality month-end closings. You will also be tasked with implementing appropriate internal controls over financial statements and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations. Your role will extend beyond traditional finance responsibilities as you identify areas for improvement in business processes and work collaboratively with stakeholders to drive positive change.

• Take ownership of comprehensive finance leadership in the Market, including local control and compliance, FP&A, treasury and tax.
• Analyse financial closing results, including P&L and balance sheet by working with regional Shared Service team.
• Implement appropriate internal controls over financial statements and all compliance requirements.
• Act as approver of key accounts’ reconciliation to ensure integrity of balance sheet for the Market.
• Work with external and internal auditors for any quarter and annual audit requirements.
• Lead the annual budgeting process and forecasting process by working with business owners.
• Identify areas for improvement in finance/accounting or business processes and work with necessary stakeholders to implement positive changes.
• Partner with regional Share Service team to continuously optimize the service level of Shared Service center.

What you bring:

The ideal candidate for the FP&A Manager position brings a wealth of experience in accounting, finance, or a related field. Your background in controllership and finance partnership within the retail/FMCG/direct selling industry will be highly valued. You possess an undergraduate degree in Finance, Auditing, or Accounting, with an MBA and/or CPA (or equivalent) being preferred. Your ability to effectively interact with management and influence decision makers sets you apart. As a self-starter, you are able to work independently while keeping your manager informed of progress and issues. Your strong analytical skills and attention to detail enable you to translate analytical findings into concise recommendations.

• Undergraduate degree in Finance, Auditing, or Accounting, MBA and/or CPA (or equivalent) preferred.
• 8+ years experience in accounting, finance or a related field with a focus on controllership & Finance partnership preferably in retail/FMCG/direct selling industry.
• Ability to effectively interact with management.
• Strong management presence and ability to influence decision makers.
• Self-starter able to work independently while keeping manager apprised of progress and issues.
• Ability to translate analytical findings into concise findings and/or recommendations.
• Able to complete assignments in a timely manner while managing competing priorities.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
